I qualified summer 2010 with ACCA, all these coments are very familiar each year with bad experiences repeatedly seen as poor time management due to not being able to understand the examiners requirement. However do not give up or view these experiences negatively or simply blame the examiners for not making the exam papers more easier to complete because you don’t have the time to cover the syllabus sufficiently or because you have work/college or other commitments that you are finding tough to balance.

The standard of the ACCA exams is designed to bring out the best in those students who will go on to develop into professional accountants – I don’t just mean getting high pass marks each time. The right to pass an exam cannot be soley determined by how much time you spent studying it is about application of commonsense knowledge and application of many other cognitive skills which you acquire along the path of experience.

I sat this paper last June 2010. I used both bpp and kaplan. kaplan has the edge for fuller explanations.
I also used CD roms by bpp – ipass.
I recommend you work from question practice kits too as the answers are very useful to acquiring general knowledge of subject areas.

    Don’t bother.
They will summarise each question you completed with a pass or fail (no percentage mark – no explanation for mark) and then send you a copy of the answers.

Not worth it – save your money for the resit paper!

Just think this time last year we would have already had our results.
Isn’t it freaky knowing that our results are already determined but they simply are not being released yet!!!!!

I don’t want Monday to come ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! On the other hand I do, this period of waiting is awful!!!!!!!!!

Being the last week before the exam results are out – enjoy your current life as things will not be the same after Monday 23rd!

Wait for a good moment when you are in the mood.
Or remind yourself regulary what will happen if you don’t i.e rubbish job prospects, no promotion or lower income status.

One thing for sure my shoulder is hurting from gripping my pen (gel ink) for 3 hours.

Answering Q1 took a long time, I only had an hour left for the other two.
A fair paper – will wait and see until August, not prepared to say definite pass or definte fail. I honestly did not think I was going to finish a third question but kept writing all the way to the end. When time pressured like that you worry if you interpreted the questions correctly – I know my punctuation deserted me in the last 15 minutes!

No point panicking, re-do questions, re-read some chapters it starts to make better sense after a period, it is pointless just having a head full of facts but can’t apply it in the exam.
Come exam day we will not know everything but we will know something enough to pass.
