Hardest ACCA I’ve sat to date.
Time pressure was brutal and question 1 was nothing like I have seen in past papers, specimens or mocks.
Also the whole paper tested a tiny percentage of the syllabus and some questions were pretty repetitive. Wasted a lot of time learning the whole syllabus and not much of a range came up which was pretty disappointing! Also nothing on current issues 🙁 I had the same questions as tbmks below.

Not sure it I will be able to get 50% – super disapponting as I spent so much time and effort on this exam and it in my opinion it wasn’t a fair exam at all – especially question 1!

I thought the paper wasn’t too bad but highly time pressured:

Q1 was NPV with quite a few factors to take into consideration especially with tax on both sides!
Assumptions in the calculation of NPV
Also had 4marks on the role of the WTO which was pretty specific
Sensitivity analysis to work out % change in sales price to get NPV to 0
    Simple duration calculation (2marks)
Concerns regarding sensitivity analysis and duration calculations for 6 marks – again pretty specific so not sure if I picked up many marks here

Q2 – restructure, change to SOFP, EPS and WACC – very time pressured question!!

Q3 – Hedging foreign currency risk – forwards, options and futures. A lot of explanation required on basis too which I thought wasn’t very clear. For this question I thought the requirements were pretty repetitive??

Thanks so much! Nik’s answer on page 2 was super helpful and I was able to pass with 50% 🙂 I also recommend focusing on questions 3,4 and 5 as they are very easy – just calculate the change as stated in the question. Focus on the After MEXIT column and compare your answer – the net profit that you got after making the changes as instructed in the question to the original after MEXIT profit. This will be the final answer. I hope I was able to help without violating any ethical rules.
