Thank you for this – it was very insightful. The lecturer commented on numerous occasion that mentioning specific standards was not necessary and gained no further points – if I recall correctly he called it “knowledge dumping” that “irritates the marker”.

Could you clarify if this comment is in reference to how all questions should be answered? Or were his comments specific only to how you would answer question 2.

One thing that has confused me (and potentially lead to me failing this exam at my first attempt) is I had thought dropping standard names was required – reading the ACCA Mock Answers on their website certainly gives that impression.

Would appreciate your thoughts.
