I had a completely different question Q1 was an acquisition and question 2 was NPV IRR AND MIRR and VAR question 3 was interest rate hedging which I ran out of time on.
I spent way too much time on question one, I think my attempt at task 2 was good and for task 3 I think we had to value Rabinus Rivers using P/E ratio,FCF diVidends and comment on how suitable it is for acquisition and then suggest the methods of financing the acquisition, I didn’t get to question 4 as I ran out of time ???I feel I could have passed if I did!!!

Q2 due diligence question 17 marks
Ethics and quality control 8 marks
Q3 ISA 250 5 Marks
Reporting 20 marksThe exam itself was not impossible I was short on time and my exam froze as I started question 3 I lost 5 valuable minutes because of this
I am in South Africa, I was supposed to start at 11:15 CAT I only started at 12:30 and then as I was busy with my last question my exam froze and had to be relaunched again I had to wait in line. But the worst part is that I ran out out time my exam was still counting down when it was frozen that time was not added back at least 5 minutes
I could not tell you if I passed or failed, I managed to attempt all the questions I just feel for the first two questions I spent too much time trying to get those 30 marks lets hope I get at least 20.

My version of the exam had
1) unbundling and acquisition of a company in the same industry.
2)forex hedging using forwards, futures and options, 6 mark question on swaps which I unfortunately left out due to time.
3)NPV, MIRR,MACAULAY DURATION AND a discussion on on the differences in those appraisal methods.I spent too much time on question one and barely linked my calculations to my report in a coherent discussion I could have done quite well, i need better time management, I hope I pass.

I need some clarification, if i did the MSC after completing SBL as i already have SBR, i would technically be exempt from doing P4 and P5 and i will only have to write the exam in December after doing course work during the year which means i will probably be better equipped to pass that exam in any case after studying for a year with better guided information
First ACCA exam I ever wrote was P2 failed in June I was so distraught passed its at 56 % second sitting I feel amazing.
In the specimen exam the contingent consideration was included at 100% its fair value are you certain the the fair value had to be at 25% of the pv of the present value?
Paper was very similar to one of the specimen exams, of course being lazy I did a half effort at the specimen exam and suffered during the exam because I could have aced it…. Anyway did not struggle MUCH did leave 11arks out thou and for discussion question I blab so much for 6 marks…. Ey I really hope I blabbed enough to get a pass just 50%, please god
I think when you fill in your exam documents you answer a few questions or is it when entering an exam…but i think that is the basis of the email you will get the learning signal email if you gave specific answers to those questions, example which learning media do you use, are you attending classes etc…
