Sorry, just reread your message.
If you’re studying with BPP they’re notes are great, better than Kaplans from my AAT experience. So used in conjunction with the text you’ll be fine.
December 23, 2017 at 12:32 am #424530Hi,
Depends on your preference.
I got both for F1.
Found BPP more detailed, helpful for stuff I didn’t understand. But got a bit bogged down and tbh didn’t really use it.
Found Kaplan more to the point, but occasionally wanting in a bit more explanation, sometimes I’d resort to Google.
In the end I used Kaplan books for all operational level and passed with good marks.
I used Bpp books for all of AAT and they were overkill for sure.

Rich.
September 13, 2017 at 2:51 pm #407509I’m like you in that I quickly learn the questions/answers.
My tactic is to avoid question practice using the kaplan exam kit, mocks and test-yourself on-line questions until the last week.
Focusing on learning, and more importantly understanding the textbook content during the course. Using the textbook questions for practice at this point as they are broader and give more understanding. I also use the BPP app for question practice at this point to allow quick tests when I have half an hour such as lunch or travel.
The above has been my approach for F1, P1 and E1. So far I have passed F1 and P1 with top marks (well if the weighted marking is to believed), so I am hoping this approach works well for E1, I have the exam this week.
If anyone reads this, I hope it helps.
But remember, everyone works differently so don’t rely on someone else’s methods if they are vastly different to how you study as they will likely fail in this case.
Regards.
September 11, 2017 at 10:44 am #407212Hi,
From what I’ve read it is the weighted average, so you might not if literally got 100% but you might of got hard questions and done very well, with the weighting taking you up to 150/150.
However, I’m dubious about the results. I like to aim for 100% in mocks/exam kit but generally fall short. ( Though with AAT I regularly could get 100% in mocks). So when I did F1 and got 142/150 I was surprised as I’d been getting lower % but thought must have just done well.
But then I did P1 exam which I felt less comfortable with and got 150/150. So I’m probably not understanding the way the marking works. Still, a pass is a pass.
E1 exam next week, with pesky words, I’m a numbers person, as most of us are!
I’d be interested to hear others thoughts on this.
Regards
Rich.
July 25, 2017 at 7:35 am #398533Hi Cath,
Thankyou for your reply.
I tried to remember it but luckily didn’t need it.
Passed the exam, was dreading it but ended up with higher marks than F1!
Kind regards
