    How time flies!
Over six years ago, I used to visit the OpenTuition page for ACCA exam results, and it would be filled with comments from students sharing their experiences, what went wrong, what they did right, and how others could prepare better.

Today, I see only a few comments. Could this be a sign that fewer students are studying for the ACCA exams, or is something else going on?

OpenTuition was a great help to me back then. I’ve now been an FCCA for over seven years, and I remain grateful for the support it provided.

SBL and after today’s paper, I’ll have to take apm again I suppose.

I finished afm in March this year. And missed the pass Mark for sbl by a few marks only in Sept 2019 sitting.

Sorry about the SBL, for your APM you never can tell, miracle happened in ACCA exam especially if the points you put down are reasonable or logical to the question asked.

    All the best!

Thanks for your views! Much appreciated.

I agree some sittings are easier than others.

I have only two papers to finish, and I’ve heard a few people, and many of old classmates who gave up on acca and went to do other degrees. But I want to finish acca and not quit.

I’ve got my next exam scheduled for June intake after tomorrow’s. So in that way I know I’ve got acca exam lined up.
I figured a 6 months break from acca is way too long and I don’t want to drag acca any longer.

    Thanks! And congrats for qualifying!

Thank you! Waiting for you to join the membership club.

What are this 2 papers? Are they the options papers?
The options I wrote were AAA and AFM.

    Cheers!

My suggestion is not to give up on acca. I wanted to drop acca so many times but your hard work pays off.
Level 3 papers are more challenging but also interesting with case scenarios.

However, I would like to ask if anyone has taken a break from ACCA instead of continuous exam sittings and if it’s worth taking a short time off from ACCA please?

    Thank you

I will suggest you stick to the quarterly sittings, if you do this, it will abreast you to form the habit and some level of mastering the trend of ACCA exams.

Since March 2016, I have not miss the quarterly exam. I recently qualified this October 2019 as an ACCA member. I know few of my friends who rested and did not recovered the lost grounds they are yet to complete the qualification.

I did not say this to impress you but to impress upon you that resting has its own disadvantages e.g. missing a sitting that would have been an easy ride b’cos the question set are reasonable easy.

    Best of luck!

Any update on Membership certificate? Has anyone received his/her certificate?

If yes can you mention your country of residence and when you applied.

This will likely help those of us still expecting and future new affiliates to determine the time-frame.

Hi all, I am ready to apply for membership, but questioning whether it would be better to wait until Jan to pay affiliate fee for the year and then submit application. Will ACCA charge me on top of the affiliate fee or once paid will be valid for 2020 even if I become a member in Jan/Feb?

Hi Lidia, irrespective of when you apply or not, Membership admission fee and annual subscription (members/affiliate/Student) are two different things. if you wait and pay your affiliate subscription which is due on 1/01/2020 you will still need to pay for Membership admission fee when you are ready to become a member.

    hope it helps

Been a finalist comes with it own special feeling and it like between the deep blue sea and the land (the land been membership and deep sea the exams)

Lets see how it goes less than 5 hours to go….

    Hi all,

I am an ACCA finalist since June and waiting for the P4 resul. here is my experience with the theory link June sitting vs Sept. In advance, I would like to apologise if my comment is going to result in any kind of a disappointment to anyone.

    June failed;

In the E-business site, I did not see affiliate in the source page rather I saw that my name was included in the mailing list. i.e there was two templates and they are if success get template etc the second one if error get a template. The interpretation of these two codes, in my opinion, that i was still in the student’s list who receives there results via email or a text message and my name was included to get an automatic message. when the result came out i received amial and text message to confirm I failed. I did not see the word affiliate in the source code and people who saw it confirmed they have passed. Also, I could not log in to this site https://portal.accaglobal.com/portal/page/portal/ACCA_PORTAL_PAGES/ACCA_STUDENTS

    Sept result.

I now can see the word affiliate in raw and there are no templates if success or if error and can log in to the website above.

The only difference I can tell this sitting to the previous one. The word affiliate was in row 250 this time it is located in row 202.

Hope this helps some people who got lucky and for theos who can’t see word affiliate this all speculation and there isn’t anything offical as of yet.

Thank for the insight, I just hope the theories are real…. because my mind is still playing games on me….. 2 days to go!

    Copied from SBL Examiner report

    Exam performance

“Overall the standard of answers was similar to the June sitting, although demonstration of
professional skills seemed to have improved.”

Examiner Report for SBL looks promising pass rates could still be within 50% and 51%

@olair these theories are for ages not something new. In June for instance I didn’t have affiliate in source code and indeed it was a fail. Others who didn’t see it said fail as well when results released. And those who saw it, it was a pass. HOWEVER nothing is certain of course until Sunday midnight UK time. The anxiety still remains because of the uncertainty until results are verified.

Yes the anxiety is always there, I know that no matter how many exams I have passed the 12 MIDNIGHT result day still remain same feelings. …….nervous

Last time in June it took me more than 30 minutes to open my email for AFM…… guess what I had a miracle 50% at first attempt……. ??

How reliable are these theories the link and e-business? I have access to the link and can see the white and grey page also found affiliate on the source page.

However the usual feeling is still there when expecting ACCA results… I am praying seriously I don’t want to sit SBL again. The thought of failing is so painful.
