December 21, 2014 at 5:39 am #221207Hello. I wish to enquire further details regarding the September 2015 exam sitting.
1. Is the September 2015 sitting applicable for retakes only?
2. According to the website, it’s mentioned that the results for the September 2015 sitting would be released in October so I would like to know when will the results for the December 2015 sitting be released?
Thank you.
October 28, 2014 at 6:08 pm #206451October 28, 2014 at 11:18 am #206380Hello.
In the first page of the RAP, should the title be:
TOPIC 8: ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF THE BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF AN ORGANISATION OVER A 3-YEAR PERIOD (as per Information Pack)
or
TOPIC 8:ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF THE BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF ABC ORGANISATION FROM 2011 TO 2013
or it simply doesn’t quite matter?
Hopefully after adjusting these presentation aspects, I would be ready for submission.
Thanks in advance.October 28, 2014 at 8:53 am #206350Thank you so much for your reply @trephena
I am really stunned when I read : “You should never have a webpage link itself in the text”. Because I was using an online generator for the referencing, it was generated as such but I get your point so I will amend them accordingly.
October 28, 2014 at 3:44 am #206328Sorry. Just wish to add on to my inquiry above….
The link of the Annual Report is as such : https://phx.corporate-ir.net/External.File?item=UGFyZW50SUQ9MjE4MDQyfENoaWxkSUQ9LTF8VHlwZT0z&t=1
So for my in-text citation, should it be (Phx.corporate-ir.net, 2013) or (Starbucks Annual Report 2013)
The former is generated and I’m currently using that but reading all the comments here, everybody seems to adopt the latter. My concern is that if I use the latter, the assesser/marker may not be able to identify the link in the reference list that matches the in-text citation because they seem to share no resemblance judging from the wordings.
Please advice. Tq.
October 28, 2014 at 2:24 am #206326But I have included all of them in the same file at different tabs. I hope that would be alright.
Thank you for the reply @Ahmad – OBU Mentor
October 28, 2014 at 2:21 am #206325Hello. I would like to know if I’m suppose to standardized the “last accessed date” of all my references in the reference list to a current date?
October 28, 2014 at 2:05 am #206323Hello. If I have prepared a separate Excel spreadsheet containing the financial statements, ratios and charts to be uploaded individually, what name is appropriate for the file? Should I name it “Appendices” or “Ratios and Charts” or…? Thanks
October 7, 2014 at 7:27 pm #203766Hello.
I am using an online generator to generate my in-text references and reference list but some of the referencing seems weird and there seem to be no one definite source to confirm so I wish to seek your kind attention in verifying if these references are correctly done as according to Harvard Referencing Style. An example that fits my description would be as follows:
In-text: (Agr.gc.ca, 2010)
Bibliography: Agr.gc.ca, (2010). The Canadian Coffee Industry – Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). [online] Available at: https://www.agr.gc.ca/eng/industry-markets-and-trade/statistics-and-market-information/by-product-sector/processed-food-and-beverages/the-canadian-coffee-industry/?id=1172237152079 [Accessed 6 Oct. 2014].Meanwhile, am I suppose to reference how I’m using this online generator and include in my bibliography?
I’m sorry if there’s a similar forum on this but I’m rushing for Period 29 submission currently so yes, I apologize. Thank you.
August 8, 2014 at 9:04 am #188285I got 73%. First attempt.
August 8, 2014 at 9:03 am #18828367%! Thank you OpenTuition for the F8 notes. I’ve used them well!
August 8, 2014 at 9:01 am #188280I got 58%. Thank you OpenTuition for the lectures on past year questions! That helped me a lot seriously!
February 23, 2014 at 6:35 pm #159888Thank you @opentuition_team for the recommendations and others for their comments (whether dedicated to me or in general).
I did go through the OT notes for F8 and personally find it too brief? Then again, I am in no basis to comment since this is my first time being exposed to audit so whether a material is comprehensive or not, I’m really not sure hence intending to get feedback.
Anyway, I’ve decided to just make use of all available resources that I have (hahaha) since there’s no harm. Maybe it’s time I stop being stubborn over sourcing the “right” material…
So, I will be using BPP Study Text & Revision Kit, course notes and OT notes whenever applicable. Good luck everyone!
February 21, 2014 at 11:03 am #159689Hello. I am facing a similar problem as well.
I have a BPP Study Text & Revision Kit and as described, the study text is pretty dull and taxing to follow.
I also have course notes given by my lecturer but I feel that the notes don’t appear comprehensive.
So, I’m in situation where I feel I don’t have a reliable study material and wish to seek for advice.
Meanwhile, any opinions on OpenTuition F8 course notes?
Tq.
February 8, 2014 at 9:10 am #156672F6 (MYS) – 69%. This is beyond my expectation! I thought I totally flunk the paper.
February 8, 2014 at 9:08 am #15666555%! I wish to thank OpenTuition for their notes and lectures. It really helped me in studying this paper so yeah, thank you so much!
February 8, 2014 at 9:06 am #156660F4 (MYS) – 69% To be honest, I expected >75% but I’m really grateful and relieved already!

Hello.
I sat for F4 Corporate & Business Law (Malaysia variant) last sitting (December 2013). Not sure about Kaplan, but there is BPP study text for Malaysia variant F4. However, I heard that they have ceased the publication for Malaysian variant books now and the latest version I used was for June 2012 exams.
Therefore, you need to check if there are any major changes to the syllabus in determining whether the book is still “useable”. To be honest, I relied heavily on notes given by my tuition provider and the BPP book only served as an additional, more comprehensive study material.
Or, you can register for UK or GLO variant which is possible! However, I do not wish to comment further considering this is my mere assumption. Do call the ACCA hotline for justification and further assistance.
Wish you all the best!
June 9, 2013 at 8:13 pm #130919I sat for the CBE exam and scored 78%. I think it’s necessary to go through the reference book (ie BPP reference kit) at least once and try to practice some questions. The OpenTuition notes for F1 is pretty good but too brief. It’s a good source for final revision purposes only.
