July 27, 2019 at 6:50 pm #525066I started studying after 12 years, after my boys went to university. I am now ACCA Part Qualified. (Passed my exams at first attempt). I also work 4days a week. It’s very hard at my age but it requires sheer hard work and determination. No looking back! I am now determined to finish my remaining 4 exams and call myself a Certified Chartered Accountant.

August 30, 2018 at 2:04 pm #470176Hi All
I became an ACCA student when I was 39, getting exemptions from F1-F3. I then gave 2.1 (converted to F5) and passed. But I quit after that as there was no support from my husband in helping with the kids.
I have restarted at the age of 52 and self taught F4 with a 73% and recently got my results for F6 – 76%. This is the best decision I have made in my life and I am so grateful to my children, who are now all grown up, for supporting me in gaining my qualifications.
I also work 3 full days a week and have a very busy social commitment due to my husbands work. I just hope and pray that my age does not become a barrier in finding a better job. I work as a Finance Officer for a charity and I am trying to get a job in an accountancy firm as I thoroughly enjoyed Taxation. At the moment, it seems like a huge challenge but im hoping to be part qualified by next summer and hopefully doors will open up. In the meantime, I will stay focussed and optimistic.

January 14, 2018 at 4:05 pm #428761I am having problems with my Ethics module. It’s frozen and I have reached the last part of Unit 4 where you have to upload the SWOT analysis. I can’t get into the module at all. I have sent an email to ACCA and they have said it will take upto 10working days to get back to me. I’m really tensed as I have spent a lot of time and I’m worried that I have lost everything and now I will be told to start from the beginning.
It’s pathetic that such a large global organisation is not able to solve such IT issues immediately.
Has anybody else faced such issues. Please advise thx
December 19, 2017 at 2:44 pm #424092Passed with 74% – had a lot of tricky questions but if you knew your facts, it really helped. Open Tuition helped greatly along with BPP notes and revision kits from BPP, Bexter and Kaplan. Revision questions from Open Tuition was extremely helpful.
