Passed with 72% on my first try. That’s my final exam and I am so happy to be finally done! Thanks to Open Tuition for the amazing notes and lectures. Combined with Kaplan or BPP text books, I was able to pass all exams first time by self study.

It is recommended that you study SBR before AAA as there is some material covered in SBR that is examinable in AAA (such as pensions, and a few other things that I can’t recall) However I passed AAA on my first try in the June sitting and I haven’t done SBR (didn’t realise it was recommended to sit it first until I has already booked the AAA exam!). I just used the Open Tuition notes for the few aspects of SBR that I needed. However, if I was doing it again, I probably would do SBR first, you have to do it any way so you may as well get it out of the way and it will leave you well prepared for AAA.

Passed with 67% first time! Absolutely delighted. Advice to anyone doing AAA, exam questions, exam questions and more exam questions! Study the answers, they want a very specific answer. If you know what the examiners are looking for, it’s not as hard as people say (and I don’t or have never worked in audit)

Passed with 64% first attempt. Absolutely thrilled as the exam portal was down until 20 minutes before the exam and then I had technical issues with my laptop during the exam so I was sure I had failed!

    Replying to Sadia above:

Exam questions, exam questions, exam questions. Practising these is key to passing the exam. The actual AA content isn’t that difficult, but the examiners want a very specific answer, so read the solutions in the revision kit carefully and try and mimic them as much as possible. There is a good section in the ACCA website where examiners go over exam questions and sample answers and discuss where they awarded points and what scored zero. This was a real eye opener for me and I think helped me hone my answers to what they wanted. They don’t want a load of waffle and can spot it a mile off and will score zero for filler

Passed first time with 73%, absolutely buzzing, never want to look at another AA question again! Used the BPP book and exam kit and augmented with OT lectures and notes. Thanks so much to the OT team!

Passed with 73% on first attempt. I had felt very prepared going into the exam, but didn’t feel the exam went well (final question was unlike any I had seen in previous and sample exam papers) so am delighted!
