Many thanks John, i have to resit as got 48 sadly. I am just relooking at this after watching your lecture. APologies for typo, yes it was 3000. So this is slightly different to your example I guess as they havent given the price. So the best way is to work out the cost per unit after each receipt and then work backwards so if there was say 200 left and the last receipt was for 100 at $5 and the receipt before was say 100 as well at $6, then it would be:
100 x 5 + 100 x 6 = $1100 closing value? is that correct?
December 13, 2020 at 3:46 pm #599829Hi Cathy, fair enough, yeah I guess, have you manage to find a different role or are you still doing sales ledger? Im the same, I find the exams very difficult and got 45% in F3, I did an Economics degree but still find it difficult, I have just turned 34 so not fresh out of uni, how old are you if you don;t mind me asking?
December 13, 2020 at 12:56 pm #599816Congratulations, I have pretty much given up as ACCA wa making me unhappy and everyone else was convincing me to give up
December 13, 2020 at 12:50 pm #599814Congratulations, have you managed to get a job within accounting? Is it worth it as Im struggling to find the motivation as failed exam recently
October 1, 2020 at 4:12 pm #587147Thanks guys, I was recently made redundant so I want to resit it ASAP but need to find new job first, hoping to take it in November sometime
August 2, 2020 at 5:02 pm #578985Hi Artipha, bad luck, you were even closer than me! please let me know how you get on, best of luck!
August 2, 2020 at 4:57 pm #578983HI Kim, apologies, I suppose you’re right that they might want me to pass as I would be paying subscriptions for life. I was just frustrated at the time as I worked really hard but perhaps I didn’t remember as much as I would like in the exam so needed to get away for a few days. Think I know the areas where I didn’t do so well, for example there was a question about velocity etc and big data and believe that wasn’t on the lecture notes so I looked it up elsewhere. I knew what big data was from open tuition but i hadnt covered what the question was asking so I think I will take it again in a month whilst looking for new job.
July 22, 2020 at 10:05 pm #577703Yeah appreciate the help, need few days off from it as worked really hard for it! I just think it’s ridiculous how I have no feedback at all from acca, just you’ve failed! I have no idea what I got wrong and yet I’ve had to pay them several hundred pounds for membership and exam. Yeah I understand they try and make as many fail as possible as That’s how they make their money.
I think I have forgotten a lot of the questions as I prob wasn’t thinking clearly but suppose that was the pressure but guess I know one or two
Areas I kind of guessed at so willl need to check those out. I will give it another go, it was weird how it was very different to the specimen papers.July 22, 2020 at 3:49 pm #577671@xanpech said:
Hi yeah I have passed them all except the final one I’ll do in Sept or Dec, was all first time except F2 which I found surprisingly hard considering it is earliest level. However practicing lots of questions seemed to help me personally rather than just reading it, it was a lot of work though and stressful at times.
You can get lots past papers on the acca website, atleast you can for all the skills and professional papers which is very useful aswell as technical articles. But the main thing I used was BPP revision kits. I used e online kits, this was slightly easier as you can open in up in 2 tabs and have the questions as one tab then the answers that you can flick to in the other tab as opposed to the hard copy book where I imagine you’d have to keep flicking to and from the beginning and end of the book. You can buy them all from BPP site this site gives you a discount too.
I would say if you go through the exam kit twice dong every question than you would pass it.Hiya I just failed the MA (F2) exam, I got 45%, did you fail it by much when you took it? Feeling pretty gutted as worked really hard,
July 22, 2020 at 3:10 pm #577666Ok thanks, yeah Ive watched Johns lectures, they’re v good, its just sometimes questions are asked differently to how he teaches them. I just took the exam and failed, got 45, feel pretty gutted as got 67 on practice exam. Do many people fail one of the F exams as wonder if there’s any point in carrying on if I can’t even pass the basic ones. There was only 1, 2 mark question on performance management despite it saying there will be a 10 mark question on the ACCA website so I spent loads of time doing financial ratios etc for nothing!
July 20, 2020 at 5:46 pm #577502Hi Kim, I just sat the specimen paper and got 67 so quite pleased but have exam in couple of days. It just said the mark and not which questions I got wrong, do you know if there’s any way I can check? I know I missed up the absorption MTQ question, thanks
July 14, 2020 at 10:45 am #576776Many thanks, looks useful, will look through. Woops, I must have mis read before the it was for 30 out of 65 but actually only 30% like you say. It looks as though they include Budgeting, Standard Costing and Performance Measurement questions in the main Multiple choice questions as well right?
July 13, 2020 at 10:06 pm #576740Thanks Kim, I think Im going to just try and learn standard costing, budgeting and performance as much as possible as they are all supposed to come up? I have tried learning everything else as well but there’s too much to know everything. Are the examiner reports in there after you take the exam? Going to try and have a look, really appreciate the help
July 13, 2020 at 5:34 pm #576726Thanks a lot and well done for passing them all 1st time, are you really intelligent? Which degree did you do? have been going back over some of the stuff and seems to make more sense, feel like i know bit more than I did when I took the mock and got 38! Really hope I can pass, have got the BPP ‘revision kit’, do you think I need online one aswell as bit skint at the moment? Thanks
July 13, 2020 at 5:24 pm #576725HI Kim, thanks for the specimen paper, I have the exam in a week (next Wed) and am going to do this specimen paper in 2 or 3 days. Is this a past paper or exactly the sort of thing I should expect in the exam? I feel like I know a lot more than a few weeks ago as have looked again at contribution etc. Thanks
June 21, 2020 at 11:01 am #574402Wow, well done, you passed all the other ACCA exams first time? As in you focused more on the way questions were asked or something? Please could I check where you got them from? I only have BPP passcard things which is all so summarised that its not really enough I find, would the below be ok? Many thanks
June 20, 2020 at 11:12 am #574327Many thanks Kim, thats really useful, maybe I’m just out of practice with these things. I will try the specimen paper in week or two when I’ve gone over the paper I failed on. I did try replying to someone yesterday re the study buddy thing for MA but maybe it didn’t work so will try again.
June 19, 2020 at 8:57 pm #574302Thank you Kim, much appreciated, I have been using the open tuition notes and watching the lectures. Maybe my memory just isnt very good or something. I think I find it difficult to apply the concepts in the questions as I did the BPP mock exam in their textbook. Maybe I’m not understanding it as much as I think I am as its all phrased differently in the exams. Is it normal for people to fail the mocks and then potentially pass the exam? I’m really desparate to pass this, thanks again.
