Hi all,
I would encourage you to fill the official post exam survey. ACCA needs to be aware of the difficulties and inadequacy of the exam.
I am aware that this are professional level and the exams meant to be difficult but they also have to be fair and reflect the preparation for the accountancy career.
December 9, 2022 at 6:09 pm #674109I did use the PPP to calculate the future spot. Not sure if is right but didn’t see any other ways.
December 9, 2022 at 6:08 pm #674108It was a disaster 🙁 my frustration came not from not knowing the syllabus but forme the way the exhibits were presented and information provided.
Q1 hedging but it was so confusing with foreign currency and interest rate all mixed together. I couldn’t see the current date so I can calculate the basis, unless I was blind. I spent more time understanding and re-reading the info.@aprillie – But the way I used PPP to calculate future spot.
Q- 2 investment appraisal, all good and BSOP model, I think I have done alright ish.
Q 3 – capital reconstruction, absolute nightmare, so much information provided I was overwhelmed and I was realising I was waisting too much time so left few unanswered questions. It is a re-sit for me in March. Feeling very frustrated and disappointed. I am not sure what was the examiner’s goal as it was far from previous papers and practice papers.
March 11, 2022 at 5:14 pm #651053I totally understand your pain. I have 2 young children and I have spent lost of weekends and evenings studying hard for the exam and making sure I am ready for it. I came out of the exam very demotivated, lost and thinking of giving up ACCA as I thought I am not good enough to qualify.
I was relieved to find out that everyone else had the same opinion on the exam and is nothing wrong to me.Just wondering what else we could fill out, apart from the questionnaire, to ensure the ACCA will hear us.
March 10, 2022 at 7:31 pm #650913Worst exam ever. As people mentioned, nothing like past papers. The questions were all coded and difficult to follow, my opinion at least. Lots of marks on EBIdTa. Absolutely horrendous paper, I think I failed it with flying colours :((((
January 18, 2022 at 9:49 am #646849@ryanwilkes1985 – thank you so much for sharing the tips. I will follow the guidance and hopefully I will pass in March 🙂
January 17, 2022 at 11:26 am #646667Thank you to everyone who took time to respond. I have booked for March resit and I am not going to apply for administrative review as is a certain waste of money.
Can anyone share their tips on how to prepare for resit and pass it?
Thank you in advance
January 17, 2022 at 3:54 am #646466Thank you Ryan!
January 17, 2022 at 2:43 am #646448I failed the exam, 49% I am so upset as I felt that I did my best to pass. Study hard, revised, practiced mock. In exam I kept the time management covered all questions and I made sure I was not repeating myself also kept the answers to the point, basically followed all the tips from examiners report.
Now I am so lost, don’t know where to start with my revision with resitting.
The most upsetting is I spent so much time preparing for exam, away from my children and not spending weekends with them, is nearly 3 am and I cannot stop crying. What do I have to do to pass? Please advice someone.January 17, 2022 at 2:36 am #646442The same here. I feel your pain 🙁
