Oh i see. So here, the option 2 should be chosen, which is 7 para?

For as long as i know, i know that professional skills is given based on the quality and certain scope that have to be satisfied (which is for examiner to decide the quality of our answer and give the mark )

i’m just confused on how many para to write based on the marks allocation given, so that i dont over-write/under-write, hence can allocate enough time to answer other part of question.

    Yeah i know.

I’m just referencing to the figure they use. The final NPV figures would be different if they use 750 instead of 650 which they use now. That’s the reason why i can’t compare my final figure to the answer scheme.

I already figured out the part i’m confused. Thank you for your patience πŸ˜€

In this post you said: https://opentuition.com/topic/p4-fubuki-question/

“Both methods will give the same answer for this question”

so, your statement here will only applied if the examiner use 750 for the current method it shown in the answer scheme ? Is that what you meant?

ahhh, i’m glad. So the tax payable figure will NOT be the same as the figure from the answer right?

because earlier, i thought the tax payable figure will be the same under both method.

The only thing that will be the same under both method is the final NPV figure?

The question just appeared now after you online..idk why.. but i already applied your method here, which is using $28m as Pa. But the second topic i posted did not appeared in the forum.

“So…..the full value is the NPV plus the extra value of the option (as given by the formula).”
This is what i quoted from one of your post.
so if i were to apply $28m as Pa. I got C= $9.49m

so the full value = NPV $4m + $9.49m =$13.49m. Is this what you meant by the quoted?

Ahh thank you! i got what you meant. But which rate were you referring for this sentence? :

” even if it does then just showing the end result (without the settling up)”

    4.94% or 5.04% ?

Other than that, i really got what you explained. πŸ™‚

p/s; for the question 1. (it just bcs i’m afraid if there would be a question that required the computation as shown for 4.54%)

Ok i have read your post on the link, so to conclude based on your method,

    i. own borrowing (without swap):
    K: 5.5%
    C: L+0.3%
    total : L +5.8%

    ii. swap
    K : L+0.4%
    C:4.6%
    total : L+5%

    saving = 0.8%. K save 0.56%(70%*0.8%)

    iii.end result
    K: 5.5%-0.56%+0.1% = 5.04%
    C: L+0.3% – 0.24% +0.1% =L+0.16%

    Is my computation here correct?

1.If yes, if i only apply this method to make comparison and explanation, would it be okay? Because it is confusing for me to get the ‘4.54%’ eventhough you have explained it on the post in the link given. It still confusing for me, i’m sorry.

“So, to make things β€˜work’ completely, Keshi must pay the counterparty 4.94% – 0.4% = 4.54%”

2.and, if for example there is no mentioned such as increasing uncertainty in the market, how were we able to decide which they initially want to borrow? (or there will always give a hint in the question?)

    3. interest rate swap is only apply on borrowing only right?

    3. or, IS IT for every interest rate risk swap, Co. ALWAYS have float interest rate?
