    Hi Mike,

Many thanks for sharing you opinion regarding Q4

I have failed this paper 3 times. Each time I got 46/45 and 46 and everytime I attempted question 4 only because I thought I could answer the first part (a) better than selecting Q2/3

So does that mean as long as you use different standards or definitions and application you can gain many marks on Q2/3. Even thought you’re opinion is not valid but as long as you have justified it. Can you get enough scores?

I’m really struggling hope you can help me please

    Thanks Mike

    Hi Mike,

Just to confirm that we need to treat both Joint Operation and Joint Venture under equity accounting?

    Thank you

    Hi Mike,

Thanks so much for your useful advise.

With regards to your question above, I did majority of questions from Kaplan Exam kit rather than doing the exam papers, as I thought exam kit shows exam questions.

For section b – how much theory should we write and how much should be the application?
6 marks for 6/7 points = does that include theory or just application?

Kaplan answers show both theory and application which is impossible to achieve under exam conditions

    Hi Mike,

Thanks so much this is so useful. Just to confirm so is it important to give a conclusion and recommendation (only 1/2 lines on them)?

    Thanks again

    Hi Mike,

I’ve had a look at Kaplan’s example and there is still interest return calculated on Pension Assets and Obligation. Any difference between them was taken to OCI as a net interest cost. So does this principle comply with the revised changes?

I am not sure of interest cost ( unwinding of discounted obligation ). An example would help to solve this confusion

    Thanks so much

    Hi Mike,

I’m not sure how to calculate net interest cost? Do we always calculate it on pension obligation not on pension assets? What are the principles?

Hope you can help me with this one. I have also tried to download example 3 but for some reason it is coming up with an error

    Thanks
