HI. I had my OCS at home. Not by choice- it was a lockdown, so the only option avialable.
You can never really be 100% sure- I think I would rather have it in a test centre if I had a choice.
My exam was going ok until about 10 minutes before the end. My screen froze for about 2 seconds and the proctor’s window came up asking me if everything is ok. I said yes and he wanted me to move my laptop around to show what I have around me and on the table. At the end I was ok to continue. I lost like 2 minutes because of that and trust me- on OCS every minute counts. I don’t know if it was my laptop or connection. LAptop is quite new and I had it connected to the router via cable to avoid connection issues as much as possible.February 22, 2021 at 10:48 pm #611378No, it is not possible. YOu cannot move to management level exams without passing OCS first.
OCS- everybody has time issues. You don’t have to write a lot but get straight to the point.January 4, 2021 at 7:38 pm #601461You need to log in your CIMA account and you will find it in your Study Planner. It is the same one for Nov20 and Feb21 called AmaZZing Beds. They use now the same pre seen for 2 exam sessions..
If it is enough time? It depends….. How much time do you have to study per day? How long ago you passed E1, P1 and F1 and how much you remember. For some people 3-4 weeks is enough and some need a few months. Good luckJuly 2, 2020 at 3:20 pm #575748Hi People- I passed P1. Just want to say I definitely would not have passed if I used only opentuition materials. Some of us may be lucky or very smart but for all these who are looking for an advise- please be prepared that opentution might not be enough.
I had 2 questions about standard deviation, quite a few about digital costs. Lots about budgetting as previous person said. I was suprised I had not even 1 question about TPAR etc and profit differences between marginal and absorbtion costing. About 60% of my calculations were about variances and most of them were backwards. VARIANCES VARIANCES VARIANCES!!
A few ABC costing calculations, breakdown revenues and quite a few about decisions and relevant costing. Not many suprises but answers were not always obvious. Would say theory to calculations 60% to 40%
Thanks everyone!June 28, 2020 at 5:36 pm #574885Hi,
Sent you priv on the same day but came back as rejected. Sometimes it happens with my o2- long story. I resent my e mail next day from yahoo account, hope you got it.June 21, 2020 at 4:35 pm #574424Jeez. Thanks so much!!
How on earth can I send a private message here? Moj mail to moja nazwa uzywana tutaj na o2.pl- odpowiem z detalami.
When is your E1? I used BPP book and I can say it has lots of information which was not necessary and quite a few from the exam was not there, so I do not recommend it. Most of people said Kaplan is quite good, so maybe try this one. I was going to read it if I fail but luckily, I passed (barely). CIMA Aptitude 2- definitely helped me. What I can say- there is plenty of time!! I finished the whole test with spare 30 min, so had enough time to go back to the questions I was not sure about.June 18, 2020 at 9:46 pm #574222Thank you (Dzieki). I got my P1 in 2 weeks. I also found around 5 questions not covered by the books on E1 and F1- don’t really understand how/why this happened?
I have also read the topic about people claiming opentuition is enough but to be honest, if I had only used it for previous exams, I would have failed, so did not rely on it 100%.The theory questions- were they like common sense? Meaning, if you understand how to calculate something, then you are able to find correct answer or they were like kind you have to memorize facts from the book?
I am worried as I am rather into calculations than remembering what type of budgets we have.
June 11, 2020 at 9:01 pm #573535Hey,
Getting ready for P1. I have BPP book and it is massive!!!. Just finished it and everything is just a mess in my head now. F1 was ok but I passed it online and found harder to use computer board instead of paper, so ran out of time. E1- plenty of time left but there were a few questions which were not covered in BPP books. I find Cima Aptitude 2 quite useful but I think BPP books are not that good. Anyone could compare BPP and Kaplan. Should I swap BPP for something else? I liked BPP when did my AAT but now I am a bit disappointed when it comes to CIMA. - AuthorPosts
