Congrats. Would you mind to share some insight of the exam questions and any tips. Thanks
July 18, 2022 at 3:32 pm #66119371%. Absolutely delighted with passing on first attempt. studied for 3 months only by grinding the revision kit and past papers only. Key to passing AA is all about question practice only; throw away your text books.

mitigating circumstances does not ensure that you will get 7 more marks from those lost 15 mins.

if you think acca pass rate is lower , you will be in a shock when your hear ICAI and ICAB passrates.. those are mostly below 15%.

Honestly speaking, it is gonna be really difficult.. it took me around 2 months just to complete the syllabus(its huge!) and 1 month to practice the revision kit.. and the real trouble is remembering all the dates and rules… i dont know how much you will be able to grasp TX in this given time frame.. i personally wouldnt advise you unless you already know the rules before hand.

March 4, 2021 at 6:24 am #613203Yeah doing mba with ACCA is very easy… a few friends of mine are doing it. moreover is easier to do MBA compared to BBA .
March 4, 2021 at 6:19 am #613202yes they are more than enough… i watched Chris’s lecture and just practiced the kaplan kit… it got me 83…
March 4, 2021 at 6:14 am #613201I think you can.. but please check the syllabus update from acca website.. if the differences are minimal you should be able to overcome using the old kit.. if not , have to purchase a newer one.. i think opentution has a promo for discount on Bpp exam kits..
March 4, 2021 at 6:10 am #613200Unless you are not an Irish citizen, i would recommend the UK variant.
If by chance you are Irish then go for Irish variant, it will help you in practical work and give you the understanding of your local tax laws. plus you will be able to make your own tax returns.. and tax related stuff.March 4, 2021 at 6:05 am #613199Its effecient to practice on paper first then when you do revision again practice on the Platform.( the CRQ questions)
March 4, 2021 at 6:02 am #613198FR and FM is good combination.. since you are already familiar with FR you can add a new paper with it like FM. but i highly suggest you to evaluate your self with FM before you register for exams..FM is mostly theories with a bit of maths. … i personally think studying everyday for 5 hours is enough provided you are motivated and practice the past papers as much as you can.
best of luck.

looks like we both had the same question… relieved to know i applied the same rules that you also did.. thanks for sharing

March 3, 2021 at 2:04 am #612874Burningdesire wrote:Another question I got stuck on was the one where he bought something years ago for 5k and sold it to his son for 20k when market value was like 300k. I put down the gains was 0, is this wrong ? My logic was it got sold under market value to his son by huge margin
there will be chargable gain as proceeds was excess of cost…(20k-5k)=15k…

i think the problem is you dont have clear knowledge of the paper and might not understand what the questions ask for.. I advise you to start from the scratch as if you are studying FM for the first time. and most importantly do the past exams on the acca website.( i got a very similar Lease/buy from Past paper of last session).
