Keep going ya..I knew your feeling as I experienced this disapointment feeling when I really wanna give up 2 years back bcoz I have failed for same paper for three times (but only pass 1 at that time) for my beginning of my ACCA journey..and then I decided to give up on taking any ACCA exams for around 6 months.

Now I just left 1 more paper to go bcoz I finally decide to go on after making my decision..just rmb you will be success one day although sometimes you may feel disappointment just like how I feel at that time. But everytime I failed for each exam, I just tell myself not to give up bcoz ACCA is worth it at last. You will smile when it comes to last exam pass!!

Passed with 55% my second attempt and finally got this through after my last attempt 41% in December 2022, congrats to those who have passed!

I did not memorise everything and just apply your basic knowledge, also remember the way the examiners want you to write such as sub heading, format, tone for professional skills etc to make your paragraph clear for marker to mark. Get the higher chance to score more in addition of your technical answer written in exam.

The tips is knew the exam technique as well as the examiner report provided by ACCA and practice as hard as you can, so that you know what your weakness is before the actual exam.

By learning my past mistake, this time it made a big difference to me as a self study student. A small tip is go through the debrief webinar provided by ACCA every sitting for SBL. You should also understand the latest technical articles updated in ACCA website, this could help you out in SBL exam. If you struggle for this exam, please don’t give up and just keep going and prepare your exam confidently in next exam sitting, trust me you will do it!!:))

Did anyone receive assurance mapping about 4 lines of defence question? I’m writing for all 4 lines of defence with empoyee, manager, internal audit & external audit based on technical article..not sure correct or not..

I also get the question on AI about how to use in bookshop and warehouse. The question mention do not write about online selling, so I just wrote how AI could help customers to find their books and staff will be more motivated in bookshop, help in inventory management in warehouse etc.

The first question I didn’t calculate much, just mention all the financial and non financial with pros and cons for evaluation skill..this part total 24marks..

Q5 I got the leadership quality to provide in presentation slides..

Overall I feel I think this paper quite need some common sense answer, will see how when the result out.

Task 2 & 3:
Characteristics of responsible and effective leadership
–I missed out this technical articles about responsible leadership, so I just use my logic thinking to write an effective leadership should have make others to be participative as well in Eve’s planning and objective, and mention they show a transformative leadership style in this case etc..

How can leadership can help Eve’s business culture
-As Eve is a family oriented business, I just write that family dominated Eve’s decision making, Exhibit also have info about centralisation, I just mention what is the impact of centralisation affect the company culture, not remember for the rest..

Evaluation of talent management programme
-This part I just mentioned some staff may feel dismotivated if joining this programme due to overtime etc, cost of hiring trainer and significant cost of programme, Exhibit got info about employees could choose their selection for the programme, I just said dismatch to their job role and not right programme etc..

Evaluation of Risk heat map
-I only think of lack of probability and impact shown based on risk heat map given, some given risks with low risk, I said this should be high risk and explain, and insufficient risks identified etc.

Environmental control to reduce waste (6%)
– I suggest to use environmental external consultant here to provide consultation on waste management to Eve, use environmental friendly soil etc, btw not much info provided in exhibit, so I only think of relevant points here.

Task 4:
Value chain analysis + recommendation how to improve (16% + 4% prof skills)
-not really read on value chain and I just refer to exhibit and find out the weakness such as lack of information to be included based on value chain diagram given and write the recommendation of what I point out, not so sure was my answer is correct for this part.

Overall I was abit confuse which exhibit to use at the beginning and I tried to digest the exhibits when drafting time, but could not link all exhibits so I just list out all relevant info into my answer sheet and tried to answer based on that info.

I hope the professional skills could help me gain the maximise marks, as some of my answers are not much linked to many exhibits, I just use my logic to answer the requirements given.

Not really like this exam style, unlike from what I have practiced from past CBE exams.

I just feel this exam abit hard to understand the scenario at first for Q3 & Q4, have to keep reading at least 3 to 4 times, with time pressure this really difficult to concentrate to digest the information faster. Overall all the questions are quite tough, and not much calculations are given for marks this time, mostly application to the accounting standards. I also got the EBITDA for Q4 for 25%, this was really make me panic and keep writing without knowing whether it is what the examiner wants based on question requirements.

No time to check the answer although I have answered all questions until the end of exam.

It was a time pressure paper ever and harder than all past year exams that I have read. Really hope this paper can give me at least 50% passing rate..
