I’ve just finished f5 exam yesterday tomorrow. I could manage 5 questions but after a good night, I’ve found that I made some stupids mistakes, especially in question 1. This was really an easy question with many calculations that I should have gained a higher mark, but I made a wrong division instead of a multiplication, so I derived a wrong ABC per unit (crying!). With question of Linear Programming. I found the optimal solution of 20000 of X and 66000 of Y, but I completely forgot entirely slack definition so I missed 6 marks of this. Question about the expected value was better done and I am pretty confident to get high mark with this. The question about Valets made me confusing about comment of its performance, but I completed it without being sure whether my comments were appropriate or not :). The question of divisional and transfer price was the most difficult for me. As my calculation, W Co had a much higher ROCE and higher asset turnover but lower operating profit margin than C Co. By the way, did you subtract the internal sales from C Co to W Co? I did not because I thought the investment center have to be held responsible for selling price, including transfer price if any (but I am not actually sure about it!). The transfer price, in my opinion, should be set up between the minimum level (= variable cost + contribution lost of transferred goods) and the maximum level (= 95%* current market price – distribution cost). But I am not sure whether it is right or not.
I hope to pass this exam with 50 marks although it seems to be small chance to happen! Self-studying is saving costs and the costs saved is to take the exam again and again (crying) - AuthorPosts
