Great, thanks for your reply, I’ll use them along with OT notes
August 18, 2015 at 9:47 am #267614Strangely I’ve passed all my exams now apart from F1. Left it until last, not sure why! Anyway, I’ve started revising and am only using open tuition notes. Hoping to take the CBE exam in September. I don’t think it should be that tough. Is anyone else just using the OT notes?
June 2, 2015 at 6:14 pm #252062Thank god everyone else found it as challenging as I did. Q1 was honestly ridiculous. Fine if you’ve got 3 hours to just do Q1 but seriously it is not fair! I did Q2 and Q4. Q4 was not too bad as I had learnt interest rates and especially mark to market stuff so I’m hoping I scored decent marks on that. Q2 was a really weird question to ask, part (b) was very badly worded for me.
Overall a tough paper, I don’t think I passed but will be happy if I did considering its my first attempt. I can;t believe there was no securitisation, BSOP options or currency! If I have to re-take hopefully these come up in the next exam.
February 9, 2015 at 2:15 pm #227352Passed first time with 57%. Not sure how but glad it’s all done. Onto my last paper – p4!
February 9, 2015 at 2:14 pm #227350Passed with 74%.
December 4, 2014 at 4:22 pm #217450Arghhh I don’t know whether I passed or not, I imagine not. Section A was actually ok hopefully picked up a few marks even if my calculations may have been wrong.
Section b was a nightmare! I did q2 and q4. I personally feel like I know the syllabus well and practiced a lot of exam papers. Just doesn’t seem to help there’s no consistency in the paper.
November 30, 2014 at 10:56 pm #214923It’s my first sitting this Dec, I’ve studied quite well for it and feel prepared but going through the questions in the past papers he does word some questions in a rather peculiar way. I thought the guys who sat it in June got a really hard paper. Fingers crossed it’s not too bad this time round. Good luck all
November 29, 2014 at 4:39 pm #214458Thanks gromit. Tough calculation I think, I hope it doesn’t show up this Dec sitting!
August 22, 2014 at 11:15 am #191890Congratulations. 90 in P2 is very impressive.
August 14, 2014 at 3:50 pm #190104Passed P2 first attempt with 55%. Very happy, having answered Q4 I thought there was no chance I’d have passed. Onto P4 and P5
June 10, 2014 at 5:11 pm #175746Section A was ok. Hopefully picked up some good marks.
I completely failed Section B – I did Q2, the Goodwill was ok and so was the functional currency. DT I had no idea and can’t remember the other one was.
For some reason I answered Q4 and don’t think I did well on that at all. I thought Q3 was very tough.
Oh well, onto P1 tomorrow.
August 8, 2012 at 4:20 pm #102803Just passed got 51. First attempt. Thought I’d done better in this and rubbish in F5 but scored 62 on F5. Glad I passed both and well done to everyone else
August 8, 2012 at 4:19 pm #102729I passed with 62 first attempt. I don’t actually know HOW. I thought I’d failed badly.
June 11, 2012 at 3:13 pm #99423@Parallel Universe – tell me about it. I’m hoping F6 won’t be as bad. Still brushing up on my VAT and inheritance tax, though first 3 Q’s should be ok. How are you feeling for it?
June 11, 2012 at 2:52 pm #99409First time taking the exam and it was so hard. Q2 and Q5 were ok and I think I scored decent marks. The rest was major guessing. I don’t understand what the examiner gets from setting such a hard paper? A lot of the stuff was hardly relevant.
There was no EMA accounting even though she has written an article on this and it has not been examined as of yet. I have F6 tomorrow and I’m not looking forward to that at all! What on earth is TQM by the way?
Onwards and upwards as they say. I hope everyone managed to do ok.
Does anyone know if they scale down marks if the average pass rate is ridiculously low?? Used to do it for Uni exams not sure for ACCA?
Cheers
