Passed with 54% , slightly lower than I was hoping for but a pass is a pass! Couldn’t have done it without Chris and Open Tuition so thank you from the bottom of my heart!
October 23, 2022 at 4:53 pm #669724That’s really helpful thank you! 🙂
July 21, 2022 at 3:46 am #661490@anniebabe tbh i changed to Kaplan as i just needed a fresh start after failing, id already answered most of the Bpp kit at this point, so it was more a psychological thing and needed new questions. Personally i find Kaplans answers at the back easier to understand with better explanations. Their questions also seem to help you get the basics down whereas BPP i found a bit more challenging. But cant go wrong with either of them tbh. Sounds like you just got a rough section C tbh, it happens.
July 18, 2022 at 1:48 am #660917Finally passed PM on my third attempt with 59% !!!!! Thank you God!!!! Also thank you to John and Open tuition for the fantastic lectures. Damn this paper for me has been the toughest nut to crack.
PM has been a struggle and has taken me to some low places as I never thought I would be able to pass it. I really started to doubt myself. Fortunately I did not get the paper with linear programming and transfer pricing in sec C as it sounds like these questions were a fair bit trickier than the section C questions in the morning exam – just my opinion – everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. So to any of you who haven’t passed today, I know the feeling but please do not give up, you will definitely succeed if you just keep trying!!! It’s not about how many times you fail, but how many times you get back up and try again. There were also a few sneaky MCQs on DIKW pyramid which I don’t think was covered in Open tuition but it is in the articles.
I’m no genius but my pointers would be – read all the technical articles on ACCA’s website as these will help you understand concepts and they complement John’s lectures. Read past examiner reports and learn from them, check out youtube videos online if you don’t understand a lecture, I used Steve Willis and Jo Tufill who are both great, sometimes a different way of explaining can help you understand. Make sure you understand acca’s terminology, for example ‘discuss the advantages of sth…’ actually means discuss the pros as well as the cons – really weird in my view but it is what it is – there is a link of acca’s website that explains what the requirement is for the word e.g. discuss, compare, evaluate, analyse etc. And obviously goes without saying get a revision kit and practice practice practice, ideally under timed conditions.
Best of luck to everyone else!!
May 29, 2022 at 4:43 pm #656807Many thanks John. I was scratching my head for a while with this one. It’s actually a section A OTQ in Kaplan’s kit so no further info is given.
I will assume it’s a typo/mistake on their end.
March 17, 2022 at 10:53 am #651416@sakshi23456 – I wasn’t 100% sure on this one, think I mentioned something about the goals not being time specific or measurable. Don’t know if this is correct though as the question kind of stated that they hadn’t got around to doing this yet. It was a really weird question tbh.
March 10, 2022 at 7:38 pm #650915@pavolbondra Yea I calculated mix and yield for the specific materials and then added them up to get the total favourable/adverse variance. Your numbers sound like mine, i remember getting 1 milliom something for one and around 100k for the other. Hope its right but cant be sure. If not ive definitely failed lmao.
March 9, 2022 at 10:56 pm #650593I had 3 Es for the Novaland Universities and then mix and yield variances for section C.
section A l found tricky and very theory based as opposed to calculations.
Section B was as an absolute disaster, I didn’t leave myself enough time to think through it and panicked. I had learning rates for the some company building houses, environmental life cycle costing, can’t remember the other part.
December 8, 2021 at 9:07 pm #643288Same, the Brakers section C question was awful…I didnt manage to finish it.
December 8, 2021 at 6:18 pm #643220what did you get for the MOS question in section A?
I hardly answered the make or buy question in section C as I ran out of time!
December 8, 2021 at 5:47 pm #643203Exam was hard for me…will be surprised if I pass. Section A was average, section B was hard af, spent ages trying to figure out the price elstacity and throughput questions which I probably got wrong in the end. Then only finished half of section C, had 3 Es and make or buy decisions 🙁
