It is very important that you use reputed services for plagiarism check. Free services may upload your work into their repository as they use your information to improve their services.
If you have used Turnitin with ‘repository-off’ option, you need not worry, your work will not be uploaded to Turnitin database and will not result in a false match later onwards. Also, as Gillian mentioned, you need to retain the copy of the report and acknowledgment of file as a proof.
August 11, 2020 at 5:31 pm #580152@mam, you have posted the same question in multiple threads. Please avoid repeating.
August 11, 2020 at 5:30 pm #580151I would suggest to avoid repeating the same points for both the models and try to identify new as much as possible. Still, if you have to mention the same point, mention is one model where its the most suited and link to the other.
August 11, 2020 at 5:29 pm #580150Please note that the topic mentioned in point 2 are not exhaustive and there are additional topics which require you to use the latest information.
August 11, 2020 at 5:26 pm #580149I see. for topic 20, what exact information you are trying to get/use for the subsidiary? If you can let me know, I or someone else shall be able to guide better.
August 11, 2020 at 5:24 pm #580148Generally speaking, you can start your research and write anytime, subject to below considerations:
1) For Topic 8 and 15, as OBU keeps on changing the industries on which you have to base your reference. You cannot research in advance unless you are sure that you will be able to submit in an period for which ICB has been released.
2) Certain topics (such Topic 8, 15, 12) require you to research a recent event/ information, and if you start your research too soon, the information might become outdated when you actually submit.
However, even if you start researching early, you can submit your project only once you become eligible.
August 11, 2020 at 1:27 am #579883Generally, restatement happens either due to correct of a prior year error or change in accounting policy and disclosure notes should are given in the financial statements explaining the impact on each line item.
You should use restated numbers for your analysis.
August 5, 2020 at 9:49 pm #579381Hi – I am sorry to hear that you couldn’t continue your ACCA journey.
Regarding your questions:
1- The degree must be completed within ten years of the earliest date of your first examination pass, or the date of your first ACCA exemption was granted.
2- To submit RAP, there is no requirement for work experience.
3- You need to decide what is more important for you. ACCA or Bachelor’s degree. Why not try and complete both within your deadline. You might be able to get into Master’s degree based on OBU or ACCA but this depends on the university requirements. If you stay in US, i feel CPA US will add more value to your career prospects, but I’d they have strict entry requirements unlike ACCA.
August 5, 2020 at 9:38 pm #579380PEST and SWOT models are recommended over Poters 5 forces but it depends on your set research questions. You need to choose the most appropriate models ensuring you research questions are answered.
August 2, 2020 at 9:56 pm #579007Yes, you should discuss PEST or SWOT in a separate section of your report, however, where possible try to link to your ratio analysis as much as possible.
August 2, 2020 at 9:53 pm #579006I recommends you to look at the annual reports for all the years as you might get additional information which might not have been included in the latest annual report (e.g management commentary – Management commentary is different for each year).
August 2, 2020 at 9:50 pm #579005Submissions periods 41 and 42 require you to choose from Automotive, Industrial transportation or Media industries only, as per ICB in the OBU info pack. Not complying with this requirement, will result in you failing your project.
August 2, 2020 at 9:48 pm #579004What do you mean by help? If you have queries, you can post on this forum, however, if you mean asking for someone else to write your project (or a part of it), it’s not allowed on this forum.
August 2, 2020 at 9:45 pm #579003Hi – I cannot comment on your choice of peer company. You need to ensure that the peer’s business is substantially the same as your main company. Amazon sells goods (amongst providing other services), Fedex doesn’t sell goods (delivery company)…? You decide.
You need not discuss peer company separately. You need to include the discussion of the peer company within the main company.
July 27, 2020 at 10:16 am #578164By valuation, I understood that you are referring to financial modelling techniques such as DCF.
July 25, 2020 at 5:30 pm #577990Hi – With respect to your first question. You need to analyze your main organization in detail for the models you have chosen; and you can briefly touch upon aspects/ performance of your company within your analysis of your main organization. You need not have a separate section for your chosen models for peer company.
Second question – you need to analyze financial and business performance over 3 years. I am not sure how you can do this by just using one-year financial statements.
July 24, 2020 at 7:40 pm #577847Not required – unless it is necessary to meet any of your research objectives or answer research questions.
You may consider analyzing share price of the company with its peers as part of financial analysis.
July 24, 2020 at 1:54 pm #577832Hi – What is your research topic and what do you mean by valuation?
July 23, 2020 at 6:03 pm #577772If you have selected a listed and a popular organisation, you should be able to find information from third party sources. You may have to read various news, articles etc
July 23, 2020 at 6:02 pm #577771Does Fedex hold material inventory? Based on my knowledge, Fedex is a service provider.
You need to calculate and analyse the only relevant ratios and don’t just dump everthing in your research. Moderators find these things annoying. Cheers!July 23, 2020 at 9:35 am #577733If you still need the answer to this. I have the textbook, and its usefulness depends on what you are looking for.
If you are looking for a more detailed guide than OBU information pack, go for it. It has a wise topic section, which I found to be very useful. However, if you are looking for exemplars and very detailed guidance, I’d suggest pass.
The book would have been great if it highlighted why students fail and how to resolve the common issues, but it doesn’t.
July 23, 2020 at 8:33 am #577726You need to calculate ratios yourself in excel and attach the excel sheet as an appendix. This will demonstrate IT skills, else you will fail your project.
As I said commentary should be the starting point, you need to look into third party sources as management commentry can be biased.
July 23, 2020 at 3:08 am #577716Hi, Comments from management should be a starting point. You need to do further research from third party sources (other than company sources) in your analysis.
Let me know if you have further queries. Cheers!July 9, 2020 at 9:58 pm #576467Hi,
You need to select an organisation and its peer company for topic 8.
You need to set research objectives and research questions and you will be working towards achieving these objectives and answers to your research questions. You must follow the requirements of the information pack from OBU throughout your research.
