Me too, I failed 2nd time. I got 44 when I knew I wrote the correct things. I want to apply for administrative reviewHi, administrative review is waste of time and you will only pay for your marks’ recalculation. I think if you want to get to the details of your answer there is different way how to do it but I personally think it is not a good idea. They wont change their results. I thought I answered P5 paper correctly 4 times but failed each sitting.
July 19, 2016 at 11:17 am #327587Hi Erin, do one exam a sitting. dont push yourself to any deadlines and have a study plan. You can study in the mornings and have social life afterwards. You just need to find the way which works best for you.
I had to always explain to people and my friends that I was not available for anything for a month and did not make an exemption for anybody apart from my partner. Then you have usually a few months off studying before sitting another exam.Watch lectures and do as many past papers as possible. Read what is needed for each particular exam as it varies.
To be perfectly honest the ACCA qualification is not for everybody, it does take a lot of time and you need to sactify a lot. I sat my last 3 P exams when my daughter was born and without a great support of my “future” husband I would be able to finish it. You need to have people on your side.
I passed my last exam yesterday and literally I had tears in my eyes as the journey has come to the end for me after 5 years of studying π the feeling is fantastic! It is not because I want higher salary but I want my options to be open to me in the future so I wont be in the position I will be questioned why I am actually not qualified.
It is HARD but worth doing it!!!!
Good luck whatever you decide to do but dont push yourself to something you are not comfortable. It is after all your decision and your life.

July 19, 2016 at 10:58 am #327584I agree P1 is the best option, it is not easy but it does have completely different focus, it is “wordy” exam so totally different compared to F9. You will probably enjoy P3 more than P1 as it reflects real life and actually the exam is not that boring π P3 although requires more to spend in order to pass but a lot of people loved this paper.
Take careHelena

6th attempt. 45 marks. I thought i can pass. really want to give up.Hi Quigiang
why you dont switch to another paper? After failing P5 4 times I switched to P6 and P4 and passed both first time. I kind of knew that P5 was not good exam for me.
June 13, 2016 at 9:39 pm #322835Hi Tim,
Loan was in $, I think we wanted to get 1200M plus 230M dinars. However payable immediately and 40% at the Beg of year 2. I guess we had to recalculate the whole amount to $ and then calculate financial effects.March 11, 2016 at 1:17 pm #305552Hi Guys,
I feel your pain. I sat P5 4times, marginal fail apart from Dec 2015 when the next room was playing disco so I failed really badly. I parked P5 and did P6 yesterday. I of course do not know if I pass or fail but I do not think so I will ever go back to sit P5. I will probably attempt P4 after P6. I think the problem with P5 is that you can study 3 months and still fail as the requirements are twisted and time pressure is incredible. I probably wont ever be in those 28% of people who pass.
ACCA does not care as I complained about disco last Dec and nothing was done. No compensation, no apology. I think we have two options, one to keep going and we eventually pass or switch to another paper but P5 is not an easy paper just because somebody there makes it impossible to pass, I think quite deliberately. I am not asking to make P5 easy but fair.
Good luck to everyoneMarch 11, 2016 at 11:45 am #305526Hi, did anybody treat the transfer of the building as exempt in Q1, no loss/gain basis as they were part of capital gain group? Goodwill and equipment to profit and loss account?
Branches’ profit added to Trento Ltd but subsidiaries based on their residence status? If election made regarding branches, no profit or loss added to Trento but such a decision would be irrevocable (also regarding the future acquisitions). CFC rule was unlikely to apply for some reasons but I was not sure what to do here.
Q2 the couple Cha and Pasa, 4 erros. I grossed up the dividends by 8%, investment property was 50/50 for income tax, added tear and wear allowance. Capital gain loss was probably supposed to be recalculated but I did not know how. Inheritance tax – I taken CLT as reduction of nil rate band available for dead tax but somebody mentioned above that no adjustment was necessary. So I am not sure what we were required to do here, I thought she became UK domiciled as she lived in the UK more than 17 years but I was probably wrong.
Business relief, Agricultural relief and quick succession relief available, IR35 service company I deducted all apart from dividends and deducted NI on salary and deemed payment.
If anybody can add their approach it would be great
Thank you
all the best with the results in April

December 5, 2014 at 2:40 pm #218405Hi guys, I wish we all pass but somehow I dont think I made it this time due to my poor time management. I was so happy to see Q1 but then I started panicking what to write and lost the track. 12pm and I was still working on Q1 π I then moved to Q2 and Q4 and did not know where to start. I dont think it was that that bad as what I heard that P4 was this sitting but absolutely no time to think, I felt like a machine to write something done in order to get some marks but I know it will not help me in P5….Feel disappointed by myself, I was not probably ready enough for such a demanding exam but I am not sure how to improve the technique to write 5 hours in 3 hours….. π Well, I am still going over my answers if I can get 50 marks but I dont think so, I think they will find my answers confusing without structure. Why did I got there with the determination to stay calm, give them the headings, plan my answers and why I did not do anything!!!!! Merry Xmas, enjoy your festive time….We will get there…. π π
December 4, 2014 at 6:32 pm #217590Don’t worry, they will figure out which q you were answering
December 4, 2014 at 6:30 pm #217589Hi, I think that Q4 was ok if it comes to result but the Z-score was not suitable measure as it is only for standard (not unique) companies, business therefore the result can be misleading
