Mr Moffat thanks I picked the wrong pv dcf in error for the 105 thanks again

I need help with one more thanks. Can I see the working for this one?

An investor plans to exchange $1,000.00 into euros now, invest the resulting euros for 12 months, and then exchange back into dollars at the end of the 12 months period. The spot exchange rate is EUR1.415 per $1 and the euro interest rate is 2 % per year. The dollar interest rate is 1.8 per year.

Compared to making a dollar investment for 12 months, at what 12 month forward exchange rate will the investor make neither a loss nor gain?

    ANSWER EUR1.418

@trephna I am a returning student, unfortunately I had to retake paper f9 and I am now starting my RAP I have decided to do topic 13. I have some questions. Do I need primary data or could I used secondary data for this topic? Can I have an idea as to how to bring this topic across as best as possible. I really want to pass!

    Dear Mr. Moffat,

I would like to know if you do a calculation question correctly and redo it incorrectly would the examiner correct only the right one or the last one which is incorrect? Question 1 section B, I don’t know what made me do it over incorrectly.

Does anybody know if you did a question right and crossed it out and did the wrong thing if the examiner may correct the right one still? Really wishing…

Probably it was me only but there was something strange in the wording of question 1 section b, that had me thinking. Is this a normal borrow, convert and deposit – money market hedge?

@johnmoffat I did all the working you did except I divided the 4m share by .50c to get 8m and multiply by $8.32. Please let me know why the shares should not be divided by .50c. Thanks.

    shouldn’t it be 4m/.50 =8m

    8m x 8.32 = $ 66,560,000.00

I am querying this answer from the 72 minutes mock exam

A company has 4m share in issue with a nominal value of $0.50 per share. A dividend of 24 cents has just been paid. Four years ago the dividend was 20.51 cents per share. The beta of shares in the company is 0.5. The risk free rate is 3% and the market premium is 8%.

What is the market capitalisation of the company?

    – $16,640,000

    – $66,560.000 (I think this is the answer)

-$33,280,000 (but this was given as the answer)

    -$28,447,000

    Could you kindly assist?

This is a difficult paper to pass. I myself finally figured it out. You must go over the examiner’s report MUST. Identify areas they were displease with and and try to perfect it. then most important fine your week area, most people struggle with risk question, if this is yours, they would have identified it and would continue to fail you if you don’t get a good understanding of it, don’t forget to ask the almighty for guidance in Jesus name.

@Hammad Ahmed Qureshi – if the organization that you are working on has different locations in different countries is it ok to only work on the one in your country? They all have the same strategic objective. I tried asking previously but I got no reply.
