April 18, 2022 at 12:56 am #653614Failed for 4th time – last exam and I’m just close to packing it all in. Fed up with it all
April 18, 2022 at 12:35 am #653598Another fail. Can’t believe it. I’m so close to packing it all in – honestly. I’m just so so over ACCA.
March 9, 2022 at 8:37 am #650396This was my 4th attempt. By far the nicest paper I’ve had but somehow still not feeling confident. Couldn’t work out the basis periods and got to 5 mins before the end and relalised I didn’t answer the groups question (8 marks)
January 17, 2022 at 1:50 am #646432Failed for the third time with my worst mark yet
Don’t know how much more I have to give. I’m so close to just giving up even though this is my last paper

I had an email with renewal deadline and SA app on 6th January
Don’t think it means anything. I sat my last exam in December (again) and sure i have failed
January 14, 2022 at 9:47 am #646011Uk variant. Can sit it 4 times a year but just so over ACCA now. Need to be finished and get it over with
January 14, 2022 at 9:11 am #646002This is my third try at ATX ?
January 14, 2022 at 8:48 am #645998Same – so depressing
January 14, 2022 at 8:34 am #645995Did anyone else get an email from ACCA about March exams yesterday that someone else mentioned? I didn’t…
January 14, 2022 at 8:19 am #645990I’m waiting for result from last exam and not able to book anything

January 18, 2021 at 12:49 pm #606841Scraped through with 53% on second attempt.
Now one exam to go!December 8, 2020 at 8:16 am #598305What did everyone put for the capital forecast? That really stumped me
December 8, 2020 at 8:11 am #598301I had the same – I had 45 mins left on the timer and needed the loo. I tried to chat but no response, I started talking out loud to try and get attention and was waving my arms around. No answer from anyone and no contact. I assume we aren’t being watched as closely as we should be

I thought so. Im dreading for cbe become compulsory, its so hard, when you are not able to see everything you do in front of youp.s. i will not be doing a CBE ever again, and i do not recommend it to anyone.
My first time and my last time. Dont Do it !MCQ’s arent even MCQs, you just have a text box to enter a correct number !! Very unfair against the paper version
I don’t think you’ll have a choice – aren’t they all going to be CBE eventually??

the dividend from the sub was $500,000 in total but as the parent only had % of the shares it needed proportioning so it was $300,000 to be removed from investment income?Yes that sounds like what I did! 🙂

I never prorated them into 9 months oh god.
@sherrydada123 don’t worry – I’m sure you won’t have lost that many marks – it’s done now anyway 🙂
Do you have any more exams this week?December 6, 2016 at 7:46 pm #354715@citrus1986 said:
This was SOPL OCI was not required.
I x 9 / 12 all values for the subsidiary in P/L
I also reduced revenue by 9 months of intercomany sales ($7,200 i think?) did the same with COS and added 9 months of depreciation ($1,500) for the FVA and added PURP (cant remember how much this was)
Admin was unchanged, I added unwinding of discount x 9 /12 to finance costs.
Investment income I removed the $500 dividend and added 40% from profit on associate.
Think my profit was somethhing like $20,870 but cant remember. NCI was something like $2,600 but again cant remember.
I was not sure what to do with the inventory valuation, have a funny feeling I should have added it in P/L or maybe included it as a movement in FV when calculating the profit and ultimately the amount to NCI.
Anyone else get anything similar? You’re right – sorry – there was no OCI at the bottom
I did 9/12 of sub
Adjusted for PUP, FV and intercompany
Admin and finance costs unchanged (forgot to adjust for the unwinding)
Investment Income – can’t remember fully but know I took out the dividend from the sub and then was left with a balance to add on % of the associate but may have that wrong
I didn’t do anything with the inventory – I got confused and was trying to work out adjustments based on there being none left in stock and the valuation seemed a strange method for inventory
Think my profit ended up about £21,500

Thank you.I just dont remember writing out a proforma for a SOFP, so i thought i had missed a big chunk out when i moved on to the next question due to time pressure. :-s
Regardless, Im pretty sure i will be doing this one again…. again. 🙁
It was a cheeky part year acquisition as well so I think we were meant to pro rata the subs figures before consolidation
All in all a weird paper in my opinion.
Hey ho – P1 tomorrow!
December 6, 2016 at 7:35 pm #354710December 6, 2016 at 6:30 pm #354672I thought the MCQ questions were really hard 🙁
I went for D on the first one
June 10, 2016 at 11:14 am #321940How does everyone remember *exactly* what the questions were and exactly what their answers were?! I had forgotten everything the minute I walked out of the exam room!
