Question 2 and Question 4 were just about as easy as this paper would ever get. I ran out of time doing Question 1 so I am still not definitely sure about passing it.
June 9, 2017 at 10:36 pm #392374Did anyone adjust the futures price based on the fact that interest rates were dropped by 0.5%?
Today = 9 June
Interest rates dropped by government 3 days ago = 6 June
Hedging information = 31 MaySo I adjusted the futures price as interest rate change would have changed the price of a futures contract.
December 15, 2016 at 5:24 pm #363789Hi Girl Girl
It is advisable not to sit the P6 paper in March 17 as FA2016 comes into play from June 17 and not September 17 like you have mentioned.
Keep P5 for the March sitting. All the best.

Does this make sense: there was only 1 performance obligation and that was not completed (only 65% complete) hence none of the revenue should be recognised?
Or can you split the performance obligation so that 65% revenue is recognised?

June 7, 2015 at 2:14 pm #254781In regards to all the written questions in Sec B, I always tend to write a lot more than required – just in case.
I missed out 10 marks worth of questions but made sure I wrote more than enough for questions on sensitivity, capital structure theories (even drew graphs! ), Q1. B (can’t remember the question) etc.
June 7, 2015 at 12:43 pm #254763Gvtftf ah right, I see what you mean. This was the last of Sec B question that I did so felt rushed.
Sometimes I go over board in exams, for example in the optimal capital structure theory question, I wrote “After coming under much widespread criticisms from all corners of the economic society, in 1963 M&M…” 😀
June 7, 2015 at 12:06 pm #254756Just spent an hour going through all the comments (what is life?)!
For Q3, did anyone work out the receivable days based on current policy?It said 40 days but also said customers usually take longer – I calculated it and got 60 days!
Then I did how long many days can the factor reduce the days: 60-35 = 25 days. I used this figure to calculate the benefit of using the factor.
Did anyone else do anything similar? I might have got carried away with trying to be too creative!
