Don’t give up, !!!
19 years
Numerous fails
Thousands spent
Thousands of hours revising or taking exam
Kids
Marriage
Family issues
Work issues
CovidAll forgotten as I’ve finally done it and passed my last exam.
If you’ve passed congratulations, if you’ve failed don’t give up, this session it wasn’t your time, but the next one it will be!!
March 11, 2022 at 6:36 pm #651074Absolute joke paper, so many variables, and then after trying to work out the calculations you have the explanation. I did the first half an hour fine then i just sat there for an hour doing nothing, before leaving half an hour early to put myself out of my misery. Im having a beer tonight and a week off before trying for a retake in June. My last paper too.
July 19, 2021 at 4:36 am #628513After 2 years, £750 and failing 5 times before I have finally passed with 63%.
January 18, 2021 at 7:20 am #606602Failed for the 4th, losing faith to attempt it again, ACCA has been like a big shadow over me for God knows how long I can remember, countless hours and money wasted
October 14, 2019 at 6:00 am #549303Passed with 51% 3rd time lucky
December 6, 2018 at 12:07 pm #487898It was a tale of 2 halves for me, the first question and half of the second question were good and i think i did ok. Then the last requirement on Q2, something about DMAIC threw me and it was worth 9 marks so i went on to Q3 and the first part worth 14 marks got me stuck and then part B related to your answer in part a for 5 marks, so that messed me up. I basically spend the last hour and 20 mins just sitting there watching the clock tick down to my inevitable doom
April 16, 2018 at 9:38 am #447263Failed P2 for the second time, 40% first time 42% second time, so frustrating.
Pass P1 so im going to attempt P3 in June, hopefully i pass and avoid doing the new SBL exam, i dont; want to sit a 4 hours exam.
Is P3 an easy exam, what are the essentials needed to pass?
March 7, 2018 at 10:16 am #440941to be honest the exam wasn’t that bad, there was no cashflow statement, no financial instruments which are always difficult.
It’s not always about the numbers but the application on generally sticking them in the right place.
I failed December because i didnt do enough revision which was my fault and if i fail this one then i’d have no one to blame but myself.
Now on to P3 to try and pass that before the exams change in September and my P1 one gets cancelled and i have to do the Strategic Business Leader exam instead.
Good luck everyone
January 31, 2018 at 12:21 pm #434200I failed with 40% too, and like you im very disappointed.
If im honest the paper was actually quite friendly, no cashflow statements, and hardly any share issues or financial instruments.
I think the area that i messed up on was that i focused mainly on SOFP, and at the last minute i had a quick browse over the CSOPL and left the cashflow completely.
Unfortunately the P/L statement came up along with a foreign subsidary which i didn’t look at, at all.
Im resitting in March and im working through the Kaplan revision kit and im looking at each question in detail and focusing on each aspect.
My train ride into work takes 45mins each way so im looking at IFRS’s every work day too.
Hopefully we both pass this time
