October 13, 2019 at 9:41 am #548969I wish there was some F paper completion theories. It’s slowly killing me waiting to know if I’m part qualified or not. 4th attempt at FM and I really need a pass this time. Got 48% in June!
September 7, 2019 at 7:40 am #545402I didn’t think it was too bad overall, had to guess a few in section a and b as usual but hoping for a pass so I can move on to the P papers. Did anyone have the 12mark NPV for Doppel? Any idea how to deal with the 100% tax allowance in the first year? I had the same thing in Junes attempt and couldn’t find the answer between then and now and it bloody came up again!! Typical!! My friend had the same question and did it completely different to me, so who knows!!
July 17, 2019 at 8:13 am #523942You can…but it varies for person to person. It’s a hard paper and it’s all about application.
Some people (my old boss) studied over a weekend and passed it. Whereas I needed OT, BPP revision kit, Kaplan revision kit and a tutor to get me through it as I just couldn’t grasp it and it took a total of 4 attempts.
I personally would recommend the BPP revision kit so you understand how the answers should be written and reading the examiners notes. Also, the article on how an examiner marks from the examiners perspective.
Good luck!!July 15, 2019 at 8:30 am #5234481st 42%, 2nd 45%, 3rd 46%…at this point I had had enough and was stuck it a rut.
So I actually got myself a tutor, who was a senior auditor and had him every Saturday for 2 hrs for about 6wks whilst using BPP and Kaplan revision kits. It really helped me understand the application process and he used real life examples.
4th attempt 55% doing 80% of the paper, as i ran out of time as had so much more to write! Really thought i would fail though due to a tough Section A.
So if anyone is really struggling like I was, then a tutor could be a good idea. Not saying it will help everyone, but for me it definitely did. And now I’m off to burn my audit books, ha!
July 15, 2019 at 12:28 am #523250Failed with 48, argh so annoying! 3rd attempt too. But did take alongside f8 which I passed so least I can focus solely on the f9 retake in September as it’s my last F paper.
July 15, 2019 at 12:24 am #523240Finally passed on my 4th attempt! 55% and only completed 80% of the paper, so very happy with that result!!

Audit risk was asked? I only saw ethics, controls and substantivesI’m pretty sure audit risk is in every exam.

Hey guys I hope it went well! (or at least as well as it could go)I was wondering if anyone knew how to request mitigating circumstances on MyACCA? To keep it short, my work didn’t automatically save when I went to the toilet because of technical issues. The invigilator advised me to send a mitigating circumstances complaint through MyACCA but I can’t seem to find this under the “Exams” section.
Call ACCA and ask them. I had to do it before but can’t remember how of the top of my head. But u can do it as soon as you have had your exam!

I thought it was quite a fair exam, although Section A had a lot of ‘multiple response’ questions, which I always find unfair as one wrong part and you’re back to zero!My Section B questions were on internal control deficiencies for Yangtze Co (I think?), substantive procedures for a bread-making company (got a bit stuck on how to explain procedures re: the unsellable bread), and audit risks with Mekong Co. Also got a question on explaining potential threats and safeguards. Theoretical questions were on internal vs external audit, and the audit strategy/ plan. All-in-all not too bad, but I’ve seen many times that people score less on AA than they were expecting, so I’ll wait until mid-July…
Hope everyone else’s exam went well 🙂
Sounds like you and I pretty much had the same section B.
Really unsure how mine went. 4th attempt and felt the most confident….and nothing i thought would come up did, ha!
Started section B first, then had to rush section A as it was a lot trickier than I’ve seen before! Ran out of time with B, so definitely lost 19 marks! Annoying I think because I felt more confident, i wrote more, therefore ran out of time!
Really hoping for a pass this time, can’t be dealing with any more teasing from my ex-auditor boss!!
February 21, 2019 at 10:29 am #506005Hopefully this isn’t a dead thread 🙂 !
With regards to assertions, when do you refer to them in exam questions? Is it just in Substantive Testing? Or in Tests of Control and Audit Risk as well? I feel like I was just throwing them about in my last exam (hence 45%), without really knowing if I should be referring to them. This is going to be my third time taking this exam and the only one I have really struggled with.
Thanks.
January 14, 2019 at 6:13 am #501544Failed second attempt 45%. I know all the syllabus but clearly answering them wrong. Oh well resit in March it is!
January 14, 2019 at 6:11 am #501542Passed 1st time…just!! 50%!!

I am awaiting the result for FR and AA. I’m confident about F8 but really really worried about F7 as i messed up the govt grant question and my consolidated balance sheet didnt match.
Best of luck to all who are awaiting resultsI’m waiting for the same and feel the same about them, lol!
AA was my second attempt and I felt a lot more confident this time round, so fingers crossed!!
F7, completely messed up the consolidation. My only consolation is that I messed up a 20 marker in my PM exam and managed to pass it, so hoping i did well in section A & B and the other 20 mark question in FR!!Good luck everyone waiting for results, not long now!!
January 12, 2019 at 4:37 pm #501085I’m waiting for F7 (1st time) and F8 (resit). Got everything crossed!!! F9 Resit in March and then hopefully Part-Qualified!!! Found F8 not so bad but bricking it about F7, completely had a mind blank on a 20 mark consolidation question.
