Corporate Governance
BoD
Issues with changing kit supplier
Benefits and drawbacks of new investment
Project management
Stakeholder engagementGood luck everyone.
January 15, 2024 at 12:24 am #698117Congrats mate, I also passed AFM. So glad to not be set back by 3 months and can enjoy my summer!!
January 8, 2024 at 8:16 pm #697842Yep, the unbundled company was a bit of a shocker. The section B questions were a bit better, but it was the first time I’d felt completely stumped in an exam.
But yeah, hopefully the markers are kinder if everyone was unanimously blindsided.
January 8, 2024 at 10:37 am #697826I’m waiting for AFM too and did the usual 3 month prep. It was much more challenging than I anticipated and will be one of my lowest attempts.
I’m most worried about Q1 which felt like an absolute mess.
Hopefully scrape a 50!
Good luck
December 9, 2023 at 8:01 am #696458So I’m now getting the familiar post-exam doubt about everything I wrote. I covered everything, but went totally blank for some requirements.
Q1 Unbundled mining company
Q2 currency hedge
Q3 Investment appraisal techniquesNovember 13, 2023 at 2:03 pm #694760I can see this now; it’s the period from Now to the futures end date
October 16, 2023 at 8:26 am #693444Pass 70. Good luck everyone!
July 17, 2023 at 12:12 am #68811282% – I genuinely had to re-read it again and again as I thought I’d failed 😀 Good luck everyone!
June 11, 2023 at 10:12 pm #686820If that’s the one with the one employee working on the one intangible asset, I said asset acq first and then changed my mind to business acq given the skilled employee constituting a substantive process. But like others, I could be completely wrong!
June 10, 2023 at 9:54 am #686732Did anyone get that small calculation of deferred tax in a group cash flow statement? There was a portion of DTL in OCI and I can’t stop thinking about whether that should have been included in the cash movement workings or not? Considering OCI has no relevance to PBT, but it would still be payable as tax, so I thought it should be in the working
June 8, 2023 at 11:28 pm #686600When no control is lost it’s a transaction between equity holders.
I forgot to mention the associate recognition! So gutted if I fail on that.
June 8, 2023 at 6:46 pm #686567I came back to that question and just set out the requirements of IAS 16 and calculated the carrying amounts at the reporting date. No idea what they expected really. The questions are vague af.
June 8, 2023 at 5:44 pm #686544So it sounds like we all had a similar paper. I similarly cannot remember what I wrote but on reflection realised I missed out some substantial marks on Q1. Completely forgot about mentioning an Associate holding after loss of control and subsequent measurement… I was mainly worried about not answering all the questions so just flew through everything. 3 hours is not enough!
January 16, 2023 at 6:31 am #67637378% Pass
One of the few papers I found enjoyable!
Good luck everyone.
July 18, 2022 at 12:08 am #66084271 Pass!
January 17, 2022 at 12:14 am #64632173% – Cannot believe it.
Good luck everyone!
December 9, 2021 at 8:02 pm #643605Generally okay. Afternoon sitting had a fair bit on IFRS 15 and government grants. Little to no consolidations, except some goodwill at acq. Section C was an easy single entity and an analysis question.
Gutted no CSFP!
April 12, 2021 at 7:04 am #617073Woke up in the night to a pleasant 65% Pass. Much better than I would have hoped. I think the remote sitting helped me to concentrate more and plan my answers better.
Good luck everyone!
January 25, 2021 at 10:26 am #607926Thank you – booked mine for the afternoon!
January 25, 2021 at 10:12 am #607907I’m trying to book TX and there are three option for the UK variant. Is there any difference for these in the context of FA19? Or can I choose any.
CBE_TX_UK_OP_F2
CBE_TX_UK_OP_F3

January 25, 2021 at 9:25 am #607882Yep – User busy on first attempt, second attempt there was a system error! I’ve just rebooked my exam for June…
January 25, 2021 at 9:05 am #607869Yes, I received an email saying that I could attend a remote sitting, but had an exam booked for June. I cancelled this to take the exam earlier in March, but still no option to select ‘At Home’.
??
January 25, 2021 at 7:39 am #607842Hi, I’m trying to book a March remote exam, but the ‘At Home’ option isn’t available as a location. Is there a particular time the exams will be open for booking?
Thanks
