August 24, 2018 at 3:14 pm #469248Hi,
Is anyone doing or has completed the Mcs at UoL under Pathway 2? I would appreciate if you can share your experience. I would like to know if there is enough material available to pass the exam succesfully. How are the lectures, if there are any, and how is the enrolment process? Are the exam comparable with ACCA exams at professional level? How many hours should I plan for studiying on a daily basis?
Thank you.June 13, 2018 at 12:59 pm #458612I did P4 and P5, so I can’t give you any advice on P7 I guess.

I sat P 6 UK variant for 3rd time. If I did not passP 6 this time I would go for P 5.
P 7 was done very easily by me, so I do not understand why P 7 has this low pass rate.If someone studied both P 4 and P 5 which one from them you would recommend ?
If you like numbers go for P4 as it’s a straightforward paper. The syllabus is huge but it’s doable.
April 16, 2018 at 9:00 am #447206Passed with 76 marks at first attempt. My advice is to practice, practice and practice. It is essential to practice under exam conditions. You have to cover the whole syllabus as each single question can cover different parts of the syllabus. P4 is straightforward but it takes time to learn all the areas and exam technique.
Good luck to all who will sit in June.
March 13, 2018 at 4:53 am #442413My calculated WACC was 9% too, and the acquisition was not beneficial. Should the issue with the have been included in some calculations.
The value of the target was 968m, but obviously I made a mistake somewhere. I think equity was 40% for the target company.

Dear all.Could you please tell me:
How intercompany were implemented in calculation in Q1?Where 30% premium to Equity value of target had to be used?
Thanks in advance!(My 1st P paper, 1st attempt. Qs attempted q1,2,4. 4th was OK. I’ve converted to CHF at higher of the spread of spot rates)
I used the higher rate too for the net RECEIPT of $6,8m.

thank you very much for this clarification. I’ve totally confused the issue with interests. And it seems that I have to read the scenario more accurately. Hope such misreading won’t happen on Friday…

December 1, 2017 at 5:14 pm #419465Dear Tutor,
I found one example in the BPP Textbook. I have a hardcopy of the textbook valid up to August 2016 and there is an Example called Cactus on p.314. In the question the summary SFOP is presented and there is a position Goodwill of $20.000. In the answer the value of goodwill is deducted from the total value of net assets to get a Total value of tangible assets (net). From this value preference shares, debentures and deferred taxation is deducted to get the NAV of equity. This value is then divided by the number of shares to get the value per share.
I hope I could make my issue clear.
Thank you.
