Only during construction of qualifying assets interest can be capitalised.

The revenue one was sneaky… the info was on another exhibit for the courses covering two years. Was just a small snippet in the middle of other info.

There was risk of revenue being recognised too early as payments were paid inadvance for two years.

Loan interest had been incorrectly capitalised for loan for new premises.

Joining fees of known lecturers had been capitalised incorrectly as intangibles.

Other income was over stated due to a provision for a legal claim that shouldn’t have been added as outcome was unknown and legal proceedings had only commenced.

    Can’t remember the others.

Well it wasn’t too bad, more of a fair paper I felt

Few tricky attempts from ACCA on like the legal a action on material misstatements to be discussed with TCWG.

Q3 think it was a qualified’except for’ opinion due to the franchise £5m material misstatement. Material but not pervasive.

The impairment of hedged fv wasn’t material.

Question 1 I had roles one. He seemed to have jumbled the roles of CEO & Chair. He had bits in wrong section. So had to put them back in right places. Was like a puzzle.

What did everyone put for the omissions bit of this question?

Only thing i could think of that was missing was in the Chair side & was protecting shareholders best interests. Mind went blank.

    I agree Q2 A was very odd.

I put planning, design, implementation & monitoring stages as headings. Then wrote what i could. No idea if this is right or wrong.

    I found Q2B ok.

Fishing yachts had npv of 9mill and custom yachts had 3mill

But payback for fishing yachts was much longer

But after sale of land they 10mill to invest so couldnt do both. But first one meant they still had 7mill left not invested.

I said fishing yachts as had bigger npv but should see if longer payback acceptable to shareholders.

Got a bit stuck on the financial, non-financial benefits & drawbacks. Not sure i wrote enough on non financial.

Used a bit of porters diamond stuff for fishing one as was sales in other countries.

I think we were supposed to calm their concerns.

I put things like a consultation would take place

    Employee participation

    Training would be given

Resouces managed as they were worried about unpaid over time to move

Structure wouldn’t be biased on employees from different companies… no favouritism

Yes I didn’t feel they gave us much information.

    I had

    Chairman and ceo roles

    Merger

    Letter to employees

Investment proposal – customisation vs sport fishing

    Risks

    E-Marketing

Yes there was a note saying be careful of what CGT rates you use, then clocked the dates and realised. Yes about £5k that’s what i made it too.

Praying ive written & done enough to pass, don’t want to do it again ?

I honestly couldn’t say whether i did really well or really rubbish ?

I thought you had to use the overlap profits and work out the income for the cessation period to work out how much of the basic rate was left to tax the gain left after the bdar of £330k? So some was taxed at 10% & some 20% Anyone else do that?

Congratulations to all those that passed. I got 72% first attempt & am so happy!

To those that failed… just keep going.

I made sure i learnt all the standards well & used the revision book questions & past papers. I also watched debriefing videos to learn how to answer the written questions well as i study from home.

That said the exam questions were mostly unexpected and unusual. As these are now professional papers i’ve noticed more unusual questions seem to appear. So expect the unexpected and apply your knowledge the best you can. Don’t let them throw you in the exam room.

What I REALLY don’t understand is why they release the results at midnight on a Sunday/Monday morning.

Surely they could do it at a better time! I can’t sleep as i’m waiting to find out & then either can’t sleep because I’m buzzing i’ve passed or gutted i’ve failed ? So i end up dog tired every results day.

    Anyone else?
