This paper does not test your knowledge of theory. The examiner stated that the difficulty level is compared to postgraduate degree. At this level you are not expected just the repeat the learned words and phrases. You need to be able to analyse, compare, make conclusions, give recommendations. The same will be required at your real job. Nobody cares that you can name all five Porter’s forces. You will need to propose how to change the performance of the company to deal with these forces and stay competitive.i totally agree. but then we dont resolve such a cases within 3 hours in our real job. one case maybe..but 3 cases? i mean like overall this paper is doable but as the examiner wish he would love us to analyse and how terrifying it is to analyse within 1.8minutes per mark given.

overall i think it was a fair paper. i got excited first reading the requirements for Q1 until Q3 as i’ve been practicing and expecting valuation and forex risk. but as i was jotting and planning my answer i’m starting to feel doubtful and start consuming time thinking and rethinking about my answer. man that was tricky.
yeah i got 9% wacc for q1 as well but couldnt finish until i got the final value, just had to be ruthless and jump to assumptions and go straight to Q2 and Q3 still i couldnt finish all especially on calculations bit because as the tutors said easy marks are given in the theory bit.
this is my first attempt, hoping for pass inshaAllah. i’m happy that i took the decision to enrolled P4 for optional papers as opposed to P7.
hey we’re in the same boat! it does help because I find both papers somehow interlinked. but better not to get confused and jumbled up ur answers! good luck!
