Q1) S.H.I.P, Rewards, Critique of EPS, ROCE Capital employed and EPS, building blocks (standards and rewards), Balanced scorecard
Q2) ABC
Q3) Porters 5 forces and how external factors affect performance management and reporting
Q4 Transfer PricingExam was tough and time pressured! For Q3 Maybe it was how the question was asked but I got a bit stuck on linking how external factors affect performance management so wasted a lot of time here. Q1 was actually fair and I hope to get good marks here.
Q4 I felt had too little information so it was hard to work out the TP and the scenario itself I feel was quite poorly worded and structured.February 7, 2013 at 1:35 pm #114454I have a quick question for any finalists. Did anyone get an email about being able to opt out of having their name in student accountant if they became an affiliate?
Could this be an early sign that we have passed?
Maybe I am being optimistic but I retook my final paper in Dec’12 and I don’t recall getting this email when I took the paper the first time in June12.All the best and good luck on Feb 8 everybody
February 7, 2013 at 1:29 pm #115023I’m in the same situation as you and took my finals in June and didn’t get this email.
This time I did get the email and I am hoping it’s a good sign but I see a lot of other people have also got this email so it might just be generic.
Maybe interesting to hear from finalists that DIDN’T get this email?
February 7, 2013 at 1:29 pm #115021Got the email about a week ago. Maybe it might mean something if we have any finalists that didnt get this email. Otherwise I think it’s just a generic email. Either way we find out in a couple of days.
December 6, 2012 at 3:18 pm #110418Q1 had the info but I added some bits regarding controllable ROI and uncontrollable ROI due to head office costs. Overall, I felt ok after leaving the exam hall but now thinking about it, I don’t think I did enough.
December 6, 2012 at 2:59 pm #110414I got positive EVA of around 7m. What was WACC? I got 9.4%
June 22, 2012 at 1:42 pm #98807Who’s guessing the Exam Review Board will come out with the same old comment ” The P5 exam was challenging but fair…..”?
December 12, 2011 at 2:30 pm #91395P5 syllabus and topics are not very hard. calculations are quite simple compared to say P2 or even F9. The problem lies with the exam itself. Its often difficult to understand the requirements and the length of the paper. It’s definitely passable but I agree theres an element of luck involved with what questions are set and how they are asked.
December 12, 2011 at 2:14 pm #91785Exam was challenging but quite fair. Scenarios were lengthy as usual which ate into my time (I’m a slow reader). did Q1,Q2 and part a of Q3. Couldn’t finish the paper so lost around 20 marks on Q3. Hopefully I did enough on the first 2 questions to cover it. Good luck everybody!
December 8, 2011 at 3:37 pm #91287Q5 on employee issues: I wrote because they are coming out of a communist state, old management techniques will still exist which is autocratic and top-down.
Kaizen is the opposite encouraging employee empowerment to aid with continuous improvement as they are the ones that see the day to day weaknesses in current processes.Dunno if we should be going along those lines but fingers crossed.
December 8, 2011 at 3:28 pm #91283Q3, the one about the school, well I had a go…some of it was very audit based, for the last part i wrote about Enterprise Resource Management System
I thought it was very audit based too. threw me off a bit and started doubting my answer.
Q1 was ok, EV, maximax, maximin etc. got the numbers wrong but hopefully writing got me marks.
Q2 – did not learn the pyramid so lost a lot of marks there.
resit in June. booo
November 11, 2011 at 9:53 am #87634As i’m doing self study, I’m finding it difficult to know which areas to concentrate on.
Can anybody provide any advice? I’m just trying to cover as much f the Kaplan textbook as possible and practice questions but I feel I need to focus on certain areas but don’t know what those areas are.
ThanksNovember 11, 2011 at 9:24 am #87633Thank you everybody for your helpful responses. I’m taking P3 & P5 because there does seem to be a lot of crossover which is great.
Agree with BVP123 that none of the option papers are easy but fingers crossed and good luck to evereyone.September 4, 2011 at 9:42 pm #87701Thanks but i am hoping for newer text books eg 2010/11
September 2, 2011 at 9:02 pm #86848Well done to those who passed and commiserations to those who didnt.
I’m interested to know, especially from those with such high marks, how many of you have full time jobs and/or children and how many are studying mostly full time?
June 15, 2011 at 4:17 pm #85162Q1 part c….. wtf? I read this over about 5 times. What were they asking?!
I wrote that its normal in business to try and buy something for cheaper or up to a maximum of what you are willing to pay.
But the owners dont have to sell if the price isn’t right. What was the ethical issue here? - AuthorPosts
