Hi John
Unfortunate news, failed again at 44 this time. Speechless at present as really thought I had nailed the paper this time round.
Since the previous sitting I have begun studying APM for the Dec 21 sitting. Now with this fail I’m unsure whether to combine the two (resitting has not gone to my advantage before). Since I had started the APM syllabus I noticed a lot of lap over with SBL so was hoping to sit the two but now the fail has skewed that.
Appreciate ideally one paper is best sat but due to personal circumstances I need to complete the remainder 3 papers (1 compulsory & 2 optional) by the new financial year.
Do I go ahead with APM and pick up with AFM again or scrap it entirely? Should I even bother with SBL right now? A real spanner in the works. What are your thoughts?

June 11, 2021 at 5:33 pm #624747To add to the above:
Q1) Included calculation of of WACC, kd had to to be determined by Bond YTM. BSOP was also in there for 5 marks in regards to the second project.
Q2) Straight forward question now that I think of it extremely similar to Tai Co Dec 2018. Change in value of SH from cash. share for share and mixed offer.
Q3) Currency question, calculate net receipt then forwards, futures and options.
Other theory questions were ok too: Explain what a reverse takeover is and advise on risk and explain treasury function in relation to economic risk.
In my view all the questions were average and you would have come across similar formats in the exam kits especially Q2 and Q3 but the time pressure is heavy and something difficult to get used to if you add exam nerves to that it can become overwhelming. I froze on Q2 and only managed to calculate the the combined value, share price and cash offers. Only after did I realise what I missed.
Hoping for marginal pass!
March 29, 2021 at 7:14 pm #615472Hi sorry to kick off an old post but thought it’d be best to keep it in one place.
Could you breakdown how the DVM formula is being used?
The growth rate is 30% why is 0.03 used in the formula instead of 0.3?
Also, on part b the combined growth rate used is 29% struggling to see how that is determined.

October 30, 2020 at 2:34 pm #593540Hi Stephen, thanks for the above.
So I’ve had a week of numerous moods and now want to get back on track.Time allocation was spot on as I had time to read my answers over so I’m thinking it’s gaps in knowledge which I need to identify and work on. My question is being not so long from the next sitting is now ok to learn content?
I have the BPP revision kit up till June 2020 and printed all OT notes from around then too. I can’t physically get a hold of the new copies any time soon due covid are you aware of any material changes that have occurred? You mentioned a big syllabus change.
I’m tempted to purchase the online ebook exam kit to save time but not sure. With only 6 weeks remaining I was planning to spend the first recapping my knowledge then tackle the question practice on paper with a week off from work.
What are your thoughts?
