I recently saw a video of someone explaining that in their personal opinion for someone who has been exempt from FM and been out of practice for a few years but they want to attempt the AFM exam then they would reccomend this:
That they should go to FM and look at only investment appraisal NPV & IRR, and the basics of WACC, risk management currency, forward contracts and money market hedges.
So I assume he means don’t bother looking at anything else in the FM syllabus as it’s not relevant to AFM or because it will be covered again in AFM anyway maybe in a different way more specific to AFM, “business valuations” was something he said not to bother looking at it FM before going to AFM for example.

However I would include business valuations (which is only pretty quick anyway for Paper FM). The one area not to bother with is the chapters and lectures covering the management of working capital. They are not relevant for Paper AFM.
