Hi guys!
I’m new to this whole forum business but I’m wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me – I’ve forfeited my exemptions for the Applied Skills modules but found out that I won’t receive funding for them as I’m going on to do an apprenticeship blah blah… Basically I’m wondering if there’s any way for me to gain those forfeited exemptions back as it was done on an mistake basis. I’m praying someone is in the same boat as me and knows the process of what to do.
Please tell me there’s a way for me to get these exemptions back as I won’t be able to fund those exams and courses if not. Thanks in advance,
OliviaMay 11, 2022 at 6:07 pm #655427Hello Olivia! Welcome to our forums. I have been “looking after” this general forum for nearly 4 years and cannot recollect any post about reclaiming exemptions. In this post, for example, https://opentuition.com/topic/should-i-accept-my-acca-exemptions-for-forfeit the general consensus seems to be that students should rarely forfeit but take all the exemptions available to them.
If you completed a form which had these tick boxes and you ticked them, it doesn’t look as though you can get them back:
I confirm that:
• should my educational qualifications entitle me to exemption from the papers listed below then I wish to forfeit my exemption from these papers.
• I understand that I cannot re-claim any forfeited exemption at any time in the future on the basis of the qualification held by me at this time.If you wanted to try some appeal to ACCA then your first post of call you be to enquire directly https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html
If you don’t get anywhere it may cheer you to know that exemptions don’t come for free – current fees are £98 per applied knowledge exam and £123 per applied skill exam (UK fees) – the Applied Skills exam fee is currently £143 – so just £20 more. Also, as the first post discusses, you will be far better prepared for the later exams if you really do have the assumed knowledge and skills of the underpinning exams.
And, apart from a current Revision Kit which you can buy from BPP with a 20% discount voucher https://opentuition.com/20-discount-bpp-books you can get all the resources you need to pass FOR FREE from OpenTuition https://opentuition.com/acca
