Hi all,
I don’t understand why you also depreciate the $60,000?
I get you have to depreciate the $240,000 and $160,000.
Thanks for the help.

November 16, 2014 at 9:43 am #210374There is more than one way of arriving at the same answer.
The answer in the course notes has calculated depreciation on the 240,000 for the full year, and then removed depreciation on the 60,000 that were sold during the year for the 9 months that they were not there.
You could have got the same answer by depreciating the remaining 180,000 for the full year and then adding on depreciation for 3 months on the 60000 that were there for three months of the year.(In both cases you would of course add on depreciation on the additions for the six months that they were there)
