Just a random though pop into my mind while studying IAS 16, is it possible to have a situation where there is a decrease in PPE while an increase in deprecation at the same time?
Once again, thank you for your hard hard effort in answering these question hahahaa it must be tiring.
Hi,
It would be highly unlikely, and the only situation that it might happen is that’s there is an impairment of the asset and a change in the useful life that extends it by such an amount that the depreciation expense is higher than it was previously.
