Hi Sir Chris!
In June 2011 Q1, part of working 3 Goodwill for Stein (a foreign sub) was to calculate the exchange difference gain based on the difference of the consideration paid (in Dinars m) which is 276 and 52% of Net Assets at aquisition which is 257.4. The difference is 18.6 which is then used to get the exchange gain of $.62m (by multiplying 18.6 by DOC and DOA exchange rates and getting the difference).
My question is in September/December 2015 Q1, how come this was not done to a foreign sub and an exchange difference on Goodwill was calculated differently?
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,

The goodwill has been calculated in the same way. The only difference is that there is an impairment in the September/December 2015 question and this needs to be dealt with first before the calculation of any foreign exchange difference.
Thanks
