Explain whether the Non-controlling interest (NCI) is better classified as debt or equity. Why is it necessary to change the format of the consolidation worksheet where a NCI exists in the group?
Hi,
NCI is equity as it confers the ownership of the NCI in the subsidiary. I’m not too sure what you mean by your second point but if you explain it further then I’ll do my best to answer.
