Hello,
please help me with this past exam (I found it in BPP revision kit).
I have problem with “leather” calculation (2*10*100/80)
Why 100/80?Thank you in advance,
February 21, 2016 at 8:36 am #301347For every 100 metres of leather bought, 20 metres are wasted and therefore only 80 are available for production.
Putting it the other way round, for every 80 needed for production, they need to buy 100 metres.
So if 2 metres are needed for production, they need to buy 100/80 x 2 metres

August 3, 2016 at 3:44 pm #331156The problem with the leather has been quite a common problem in the exam – the idea has often been asked.
November 14, 2023 at 5:28 pm #694832Im sorry but why they needed 100 metres for 80 available? I seem can’t understand about this
November 15, 2023 at 9:49 am #694882For every 100 metres of leather bought, 20 metres are wasted and therefore only 80 are available for production or for every 80 needed for production, they need to buy 100 metres.
So if 26 metres are needed for production, they need to buy 100/80 x 26 metres which equals 32.5 metres.
