    A company began producing a new prodcut in batches four months ago. When production commenced t he first batch took 45 hours. The actual learning rate observed were as follows.

    Month ————— Total batches produced to date————— Actual learning rate
    1 ————— 1 ————– 75%
    2 ————— 2 ————— 75%
    3 ————— 4 ————– 75%
    4 ————— 8 ————— 95%

    What was the average production time per batch for the first 8 batches.
    A – 18.98 hours
    B – 22.78 hours
    C – 39.06 hours
    D – 32.81 hours

    kindly help me out with this question. thanks

    Every time we double production, the average time falls to a percentage of the previous average time.

    So average time when we produce 2 is 45 x 0.75
    Average time when we produce 4 is 45 x 0.75 x 0.75
    Average time when we produce 8 is 45 x 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.95

    I got confused when the rate changed to 95%.

    It was simply applying the rule ‘ Every time we double production, the average time falls to a percentage of the previous average time.’

    answer is A 18.98

    month total batch LC
    1 1
    2 2 75% 67.5 33.75
    3 4 75% 101.25 25.3125
    4 8 75% 151.875 18.984375

    first batch took 45 hours.

    95 % is for the next batch of 16
