If the second question is straight forward, then why are you asking it here??? 🙂

With regard to the first question, the average time per unit if we make two units is (8+6)/2 = 7 hours.

So the learning rate is 7/8 = 87.5%

I cannot go through the whole of the answer to the second question (you will have to watch the free lecture on learning curves where I go through an almost identical question – it very standard).

If you make an additional 7 then in total there will be 8 units.

So you need to get the total time for 8 units (8 x the average time, and we can get the average time by doubling) and then subtract the time for the first unit.
