Q. A company is intending to produce product and they have made following test product first took 8 hours , second 6hours what is the learning rate ?
Q first product takes 25 hours , learning rate is 75 % additional 7 units will take ?
the second question is pretty straightforward but i still could arrive at correct answer 🙁
If the second question is straight forward, then why are you asking it here??? 🙂
With regard to the first question, the average time per unit if we make two units is (8+6)/2 = 7 hours.
So the learning rate is 7/8 = 87.5%
I meant I couldn’t arrive at answer of second question ( typing error sorry )
I cannot go through the whole of the answer to the second question (you will have to watch the free lecture on learning curves where I go through an almost identical question – it very standard).
If you make an additional 7 then in total there will be 8 units.
So you need to get the total time for 8 units (8 x the average time, and we can get the average time by doubling) and then subtract the time for the first unit.
