ACCA EQUIVALENT
WHAT IS ACCA EQUIVALENT TO? I HAVE HEARD IT IS EQUIVALENT TO A BSC DEGREE (LEVELII) AND LEVEL III MASTER’S DEGREE IS THIS TRUE?
February 20, 2014 at 4:59 am #159487I think there is no appropriatness in comparing a unversity degree , be it bachelors, masters or PHD, with a professional accounting qualification like ACCA. You will be known as member of the institute once you complete all the requirements to be qualified as a member and no degree is conferred upon you.
Professional instituions like ACCA can disqualify you as a member and take back your qualification under certain circumstances, whereas no university degrees in the world have such a provision in my knowledge.
I therefore, rate, professional qualification like ACCA, way above any university degree for the simple reason that , with a professional qualification you will be a more responsible person and you will update your field knowledge regularly by which you will never lose the connect of your expertise and your qualification as well.
“Jokingly once I repied to my friend that a university degree is your loyal wife and a professional qualification is your girlfriend”
Ofcourse, it may be useful to compare the standard of exams/training with university degrees in order to benchmark for the conveneince of the students.
Comparing he standards of professional qualifications would be more appropriate, for eg. ACCA V/s. CPA. ACCA V/s. AIA (uk) or ACCA v/s.your local accountancy body if you are in a different country.
