    Hello Sir,

If the auditor is unable to cover all the sites of the inventory count at the year end .So in this case as per the exam kit model answer he should see the differences in the counts for the unvisited sites and discuss with management these differences.
But here can we say that the auditor can get some more outsourced auditor to accomplish this count and get it done independently. This was not mentioned the exam kit answer about the outsource.

    Thanks,

Short answer – it’s not mentioned because it wouldn’t happen.

Except for a “joint audit” situation (which is relatively rare, expensive and not examinable in AA), there is one external auditor/audit firm, which should have sufficient resources or otherwise not accept the engagement.

It is quite reasonable for the external auditor to work with internal audit, where relevant, to cover all material locations but would NOT outsource audit work to another firm of auditors.

An external audit may however employ an expert where, for example, inventory is of a specialist nature. But not merely to count.
