Hi
There was a question in J15 Chestnut and Co. In it there was an issue regarding Palm industries
The question asked to recommend procedure the audit team should perform to try to resolve the issue
There were 3 procedures mentioned in suggested answer BUT if we do not write any of that procedure which is mentioned in suggested answer and write any other procedure which is not in suggested answer , so could we gain marks for it provided that the procedure is relevant to the scenario?
In this question if we write the procedures such as Obtain legal advice as to the possibility of payment, Discuss with management why allowance for receivables was not made with regards to this balance . Would these 2 procedures be correct BUT these 2 were not mentioned in examiner’s answer?
There are often many problems/issues/procedures and tests that can be relevant. Credit will always be given for relevant answers even if not in the model answer. The worst approach is to say nothing for fear you are wrong.
