Forums › OBU Forums › WriteCheck Closed their services. what are the alternatives?
Hi all, I hope all of you are fine.
I got one question.
How can I check my work for potential plagiarism when WriteCheck is unavailable.
hoping for the solution as I have to submit my project before 16th Dec.
thank you.
Sorry Ehtasham I am not aware of another equally good program as WriteCheck as the latter is the student version of Turnitin (produced by the same software company), the plagiarism checker used by most universities. The way these programs work is by comparing both published material and other student work that has been submitted to universities worldwide so as Turnitin is used by OBU no other program is going to be as reliable.
I also don’t understand why you say WriteCheck is not available -admittedly as we have pointed out before, WriteCheck charges a few for use, however it should be available worldwide. So unfortunately as there is no free or reliable alternative you will just have to go through your work and check yourself that your haven’t copied and pasted passages from other people’s work and source
BTW Please do not poat the same question in more than one place -it is completely unnecessary!
Sorry ehtasham I had no idea that WriteCheck was discontinuing its service altogether. This is a shame as it was so useful for students.
All I can suggest is that students are very careful when using sources to ensure that they paraphrase and express ideas in their own words then there should be no problem regarding plagiarism. Also consult the OT Ultimate Guide to Referencing your RAP to learn how to reference your work appropriately to help avoid any possible academic negligence.
So apologies as I didn’t understand the full issue initially
