Do we need to show working while calculating ratio?
Or we can just write the answer directly?
If the calculation was something you couldn’t possibly get wrong and you can see, for example, that it’s 9% because it’s $90k/$1,000 x 100% I wouldn’t bother. Also if you have limited $ info in the Q so there is only one profit figure you could have chosen, you probably don’t need to (but don’t make careless mistakes).
If, however, any calculation involves more than a simple summation or division I would show. For example 22.6% (104/(321+140))
It’s not necessary to write “x 100%”. Note that to 1 decimal place is enough (especially bearing in mind that the 104, etc will be $000s of $ms).
