I’ve read on ACCA site that they no longer publish MCQ, I think that’s quite unfair. In the explanation they provided was that they have a bank of questions from which questions can re-occur, well in my opinion this should not be a major issue in the sense that it’s quite a large pool and it’s unlikely students will have an unfair advantage from such a large pool. Moreover, in the worse case that students rote learn the answer and just regurgitate in exams, ACCA can twist the answers and those who have not understood the principle would definitely not be able to answer properly, so to conclude a whole population of students is being penalized for a policy which is not justified.
My second point is on Section B: it’s a hybrid version mixing September paper and December paper. Would anyone tell me how on earth would we be able to compare our answers to check where we flawed if we do not have an exact version of the paper we sat.
Honestly, I’m really worried with the recent ACCA polices and markings since the introduction of 4 sittings in a year. I agree it has eased our lives since we can re-sit in only a few months, but has the quality of correction been maintained?
