So I have been doing tests and of the two tests I did, I have done very well in the multiple choice part. I’ve gotten 13 and 14 out of the maximum 15 in the tests I have done so far.

However, when it comes to the essay type questions my performance is very poor.

Is there any advice you can give me on how to do improve my performance here?

Focus very carefully on the requirements and the information provided in the question so that your answer is tailored.

Explain yourself properly. So, don’t just say (for an audit procedure):

“Inspect the machinery”, say something like:

“Inspect the machinery to verify existence. Also note it’s condition and whether it appears to be still in operation to verify valuation”.

Or for weaknesses in in internal control, don’t just say:

“Customers’ credit limits are not checked”, say something like:

“Customer’s balances and credit limits are not checked before goods are dispatched and this increases the risk of irrecoverable debts.”
