As there are no changes in syllabus would somebody like to start studying for June exam? Would somebody come forward to lead study sessions? I would like to do that myself but due to my busy daily routine I might not be able to be very actively involved.
December 28, 2011 at 3:27 am #92045hi, i am also planning to sit F9 in june 2012. i have taken this paper this time dec 2011 but without preparation actually. i have been using kaplan book but it seemed to me they are bit concise at some places. now i have got bpp books. i hope to go through the OT online lectures and OT notes and solving exam kits. that’s how i plan to get prepared this time…. i also work full time…. so cant take out much time to get actively involved in the study sessions. but we can make study group and discuss
shams

December 29, 2011 at 4:57 am #92051Hi guys,
I’m going to sit F9 in june and as Laurra says, i’m going to run those sessions just as usual, in case if people are interested and attend them more or less regularly.
There can be two or three study groups running (just the timing should be different), in case if we have different leaders or leader who can assure that they have enough time to provide those sessions regularly.
I’ve been running sessions for most of previous subjects that i passed and if any other leaders are interested, add me to friends list and feel free to ask any questions.
Sessions will start in January, probably in the middle of the month.
I expect that everyone gets all the materials that he can find till that date.
There are many free resources available and google can help you with that.
Otherwise , you can always download books like Emile Wolf, and use EXP group or Opentuition notes and lectures.jaffarkhan1 , it all works in OT chatroom,
https://chat.opentuition.com/To lead a session you need to gather a group, then create a schedule and gather in chatroom at specific time for discussions.
For further questions please PM me.Nokia, it’s extremely nice to have professionals like you here and we do need your knowledge and expertiese.
We could lead sessions together, as i can come on time, but as a student i might not always have enough knowledge to answer all the questions that students ask.As for timing of sessions, i’m in GMT +3 and currently it’s even +4
so usually i run sessions either at 6:30 pm uk time on weekdays. Available timing range : 4:30 pm uk time – 6:30 pm uk time.
Or on weekends at 9 am uk time. Available timing range: 8 am uk time – 10 am uk time.As for days, i’m not sure whether we need 2 sessions per week or 1 will be enough. Last time we had sessions once per week for F8 and it appeared to be quite enough, provided that our sessions start so early.
So i guess we’ll go for 1 time a week. Ideally thursday.
But Tuesdays or Saturdays are also available. So please inform me which timing and day is ok for you.
I’ll be looking forward to hearing your replies.have a nice day everyone 😉

Hi, I’m thinking of taking F9 paper in June 2012. It will be my first ACCA exam and I have no idea where to start 🙂
January 3, 2012 at 11:04 am #92055@cherlynn,
Thank you for your interest.
Please do check F9 forum regularly for further updates.
@nokia,
any news ? 🙂@vbalande,
It will be nice to see you as part of the group.
Well, start from the beginning.
that is ACCAglobal website :
https://www2.accaglobal.com/students/acca/exams/f9/
download syllabus (better to print it out) and familiarize yourself with it.
then you can take a look at pilot paper and at technical articles, they are quite useful for exam.
And then u’ve got to decide which materials you’ll use to prepare for exam.
Will it be BPP or kaplan or any other.
U can also benefit from a variaty of free resources available in internet : Opentuition notes and lectures, EXP group notes and lectures, Emile Wolf books and maybe you’ll find some others.Once u collect your materials, start studying regularly 🙂
so , that’s it
good luck!January 3, 2012 at 5:56 pm #92056AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

January 4, 2012 at 10:30 pm #92057I am thinking to use Twitter to help me study. Would somebody like to join in (i.e. posting questions, thoughts, definitions, advice…)?
January 5, 2012 at 2:30 pm #92058I dont really use twitter and I have classes thursday-saturday 2-8pm UK time
How about skype or something? Facebook?January 5, 2012 at 7:48 pm #92059@jaffarkhan1 said:

How about skype or something? Facebook?Don’t worry, study sessions will take place in OT chatroom. See ansi’s topics about that.
I suggested to use Twitter just to keep in touch with study buddies while studying at home on your own (i.e. in-between OT study sessions). And to be honest I haven’t used Twitter myself until very recently. But now I think it’s very good ‘tool’ for keeping in touch with the world 🙂
